Attendance Attendance

Hello CCSLHS Families

Changes to our Attendance Policy

Student attendance is crucial to academic success, and we greatly appreciate your efforts in ensuring that students are present during school hours. To support their education, we kindly ask that family vacations be scheduled outside of school days whenever possible.

Our goal is to maintain a 95% daily attendance rate for the year.

Every student has a chromebook at CCSL. They should be bringing that to school every day and not using other devices as it can interfere with our current technology. Please help us keep these devices at home. It has been in our Acceptable Use Policy for the past five year. Students bring these so they can avoid being detected on inappropriate sites, texting, and social media use. The use of these devices have increased significantly since returning back last week. These devices will follow the same rule as the cell phone devices if they are being used in the classroom or hallways during school hours. If you need a reminder on our cell phone policy it is below. Thank you for your help in this.

CONGRATS TO OUR DECA TEAM!! CONGRATS TO OUR DECA TEAM!!

"We would like to congratulate our DECA students for completing this year's District V Competition! These 17 business students have been working hard over the last three months preparing for the competition. They took part in a three-day event, beginning with a 100-question exam, followed by two days of timed competition where students are given real world business problems and are required to present their solutions in front of a panel of judges. Make no mistake...it's tough! We are very proud of them, and now we eagerly wait for results to be published on Friday!"

Why Being On Time Matters – New Procedures After the Break

Students, being on time to class is more than just a rule—it’s a habit that sets you up for success. Every minute counts, and arriving late means missing valuable instruction, disrupting your classmates, and falling behind. Starting right after the Break, we will be implementing a new process to ensure everyone is ready to learn when the bell rings.

Here’s What You Need to Know:

  • Doors Close at the Bell: Once the bell rings, classroom doors will be shut. Teachers will not allow you in without a pass.
  • Late? Head Straight to the Main Office: If you arrive after the bell, go directly to the main office to get a pass. Do not wander or stop elsewhere—get your pass and return to class immediately.
  • Consequences for Being Late:
    • Within 7 Minutes: If you’re not in class within the first 5 minutes, you will receive an afterschool detention to make up the lost time with the teacher
    • More Than 7 Minutes Late: If you arrive more than 7 minutes late, you will be assigned Saturday School.
  • No Exceptions: Teachers cannot let you in without a pass once the door is closed.

Bottom Line:

Do not be late. Plan ahead, move quickly between classes, and make punctuality a priority. If you are late, go straight to the office, get your pass, and return to class immediately. Let’s work together to make every minute count!
