I want you to be aware that some parents in our community received a general threat message last night about violence occurring in a school at 7:40am today. We have been in communication with Ashland Police and confirmed that this is a general message being sent around to some families all over Massachusetts and other states this morning (the message was in Portuguese) and did not mention any specific school in the message. The message was generated in the state of Florida.
The police do not believe this to be a credible threat. Ashland Police believe this is a hoax message - similar to other messages received in the past year. If you have any questions regarding this, please let me know.
Thanks,
Sara
