Principal's Message Principal's Message

Dear Croce Families,

We have some exciting activities coming up in the next couple of weeks, and we can't wait to celebrate the Halloween season with all of you! Please take note of the important events and reminders below:

Upcoming Events:

🎬 Red Ribbon Week: October 24th - October 31st Next week, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week with activities to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle! Here are the Spirit Days for next week:

  • Thursday, "Life is a Movie, Film Drug Free" – Dress as your favorite movie character or represent a favorite movie franchise.
  • Friday, "Hugs Not Drugs" – Wear red and bring a stuffed animal to school for some extra cuddly support.
We encourage all students to participate in these fun activities as we emphasize the importance of making positive, healthy choices!

🍂 Special Education Preschool Fall Festival – October 24th
We are excited to celebrate the fall season with our Special Education Preschool Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 24th!

  • AM Classes: 10:15 AM - 11:00 AM
  • PM Classes: 1:30 PM - 2:15 PM
Students will enjoy a variety of fun, fall-themed activities designed especially for them. We look forward to seeing our youngest learners enjoy this special event!

ELAC Mtg October 24th at 4pm

Please join us for a virtual meeting so we can get vital input from our families with English Learners.

🎃 Trunk or Treat Event – Hosted by the PTA! Join us for our annual Trunk or Treat, where students can enjoy a fun, safe, and festive evening! Please see the attached flier for all the details. Here are some important reminders for the event:

  • Costumes: Make sure costumes are free of weapons, blood, or gore.
  • Supervision: Families MUST supervise their children at all times. Students are not allowed to attend without a parent or guardian present.
  • Be Respectful: Remind your child to be respectful to others and to take one piece of candy at each stop—no handfuls, please!

👻 Halloween Parade & “Thriller” Performance

  • The Halloween parade will kick off at 8:45 AM and wrap up with a thrilling "Thriller" performance from several of our classes!
  • For students who prefer not to participate, the library will be open during this time.

Social Emotional Survey:

We are conducting a Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Survey to better understand the social-emotional needs of our students on campus. An email was sent on October 17th with more detailed information. Permission slips are being sent home, so please make sure to review and return them. If you have any questions about the types of questions included in the survey, you can find more information on the District website under Student Services, Core SEL. Your participation is crucial in helping us support the well-being of all students.

Important Reminders:

  • Timeliness Matters! We’ve noticed an increase in families arriving after the second bell. Instruction begins at 8:30am. We understand that parking can be challenging, but being on time helps avoid disruptions for all students. Let’s work together to make punctuality a priority for your child!
  • No School on November 1st: Please remember that there is no school on Wednesday, November 1st. Enjoy the break!

Thank you for your continued support in making Croce Elementary a wonderful place for our students. We look forward to celebrating a fun and safe Halloween season with you!
