Educational Housing Updates
Jefferson Union High School District, April 2024
A Message from the Director of Staff Housing
Dear Residents of 705,
I hope you had a peaceful Spring Break and this message finds you well! Just like the District Board Meeting Highlights newsletter, I'll be providing you with a summary of our EHC (Educational Housing Corporation) Meetings held bi-monthly in the District Office Board Room.
In addition to sharing EHC meeting information, I'll also include upcoming events pertinent to 705, along with some friendly reminders.
At the end of this month, we'll celebrate two full years of 705 living! It's hard to believe that during the weekend of April 30-May 1, 2022, nineteen employees, and their respective families, were the first group of residents to move into this beautiful building. Join us on Sunday, April 28 in the Community Room, 2:00-3:00 pm, for a presentation from realtor and EHC Vice President Briani Phelps, along with local mortgage lender Scott Cannel; drinks and refreshments being served (scroll below in this Update for additional information).
As we settle into year three, I gently remind our primary-lease holder residents that living at 705 is based upon your current employment with the District. If a primary-lease holder resident is no longer a JUHSD employee, they, and the members of their unit, will have 90 days to vacate the property upon their last day of employment with the District; notice of this will be given by the Leasing Office.
I thank you for being a part of the 705 Family! Keep relaxing during your vacation and feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have.
Best,
Austin Worden

Educational Housing Corporation Meeting Held on April 4, 2024
On Thursday, April 4, the Educational Housing Corporation (EHC) held their most recent board meeting in the District Office Board Room 223. To see the agenda from this meeting, click here. Below are the highlights:
The Board of Directors took action to extend the maximum tenancy from five to seven years.
The Board of Directors discussed a proposal to reduce the time tenants have to move out after their employment with the District ends. They did not make any change so the time to move out remains 90 days.
The Board of Directors noted that they will be discussing the possibility of a rent increase at their next meeting on June 6, 2024.
Additionally, you can click on the link below to view a brief photo presentation from the 705 Leasing Office Team that was presented by Community Manager Ed Tso.
