🧺Continuing Our Tradition🧺
Musical Raffle Prizes Needed
Cast and Crew families! We are looking for eight families who will purchase/assemble raffle prizes. Proceeds will go to musical and chorus at Emerson (last year we raised over $1200!).
Please use this link to sign up for a basket today (should take you to the “raffle basket” tab). Note that a group of Emerson Alumni (and their parents) have generously agreed to prepare two school raffle baskets, which we’ll use to raise awareness about the show. Thank you!
To sign up:
- Pick a theme (ideas start in row 15 if you are stuck). Put it in Column A.
- Decide what items you’ll order (see below for guidance on cost and items). Put that in Column B.
- Put your family name in Column C.
- Note: You may want to sign up for a basket on the day your child is performing. The cast (red or blue) for the show is in Column E for reference. Baskets are due at call time that day – we sell tickets BEFORE the show starts and read the winning number at the end of the show.
A few notes:
- Please make sure your basket is in a container and wrapped (see photo below). This makes it easier to market and transport.
- It usually works best to have an “anchor” item (something bigger that you put in the center) and 3-5 smaller items for visual appeal.
- If your basket includes a gift card, make sure it is visible and the amount is clearly indicated.
- Please make a tag with the name of your basket and the included items for easy display (be creative!).
- Generally, we raise $100-$150 a basket, so please don’t spend more than $50 on the items you include (i.e., $30 on items and a $20 gift card is a popular approach)
- Your purchase is a donation to the program; you won’t be reimbursed.
🎭Final Performance Notes🎭
The Entire Cast and Crew has rehearsal next week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday until 5:00.
Wednesday, March 5, is picture day. All students will be photographed. If this is a problem you need to contact me immediately. We often use the pictures for publicity.
The show is developing beautifully, but we do need everyone at rehearsal!
On Thursday, we will meet from 2:00 until 4:15. Thank you in advance for your support.
On Friday, March 7 we will meet from 11:20 - 2:30.
Before the Friday at 7:00, Saturday at 3:00 and 7:00, and Sunday at 3:00 shows:
Leads and crews are expected to arrive one hour before each show.
Ensemble members should arrive thirty minutes before each show.
👔Costuming Needs👗
We have some costuming and make-up needs:
All Thespians and Rebels need black leggings or black pants.

🎸Notes about the Music Classes🥁
What an incredible trimester. I will miss all of my classes on Monday! They have all accomplished so much! The sixth graders improved their music literacy skills, played recorders and ukuleles, and performed musical theater. They surveyed international music and sang a variety of songs! The music theater workshops performed four amazing performances of Willy Wonka Kids and Legally Blonde Jr! The Vocal Power soulfully celebrated their singing at the Vocal Showcase. What a tremendous group of students!
