Dear Pioneer Families
We’re pleased to share that we are making excellent progress in the planning and preparation for the improvements made possible by the successful passage of our capital facilities referendum. Construction work is scheduled to begin soon, and several important phases will take place over the summer.
To support this work, we are adjusting the school calendar slightly: the final student day for the 2024–25 school year will now be a FULL day on Thursday, June 5, replacing the previously scheduled half-day on Friday, June 6.
This change will not affect our required instructional minutes and will provide staff with valuable time on Friday, June 6, to finalize grades, pack materials, and prepare classrooms/buildings for summer construction.
Here’s a look at the construction timeline:

May 27: Work begins in the sports lobby at the Middle/High School.

June 2: Plumbing and piping replacement begins in the Middle/High School locker rooms.

June 9: The next major phase begins, focusing on safe and secure entrances at each of our schools, along with completion of the remaining plumbing and facility work at the Middle/High School. Roofing at the Middle/High School and Oxford Elementary will also be completed.
As part of this work, the current Middle/High School drop-off location will change starting Monday, May 27. Due to the closure of the sports lobby entrance, student drop-off and pick-up will shift to Door 3 (the Band/Choir entrance). Signage and staff will be available to assist during the transition.
In addition to this summer’s construction, the second phase of planning for facility work scheduled in 2025–26 will also continue during this time.
