April Pillar Focus: Resilience
Family resilience themed ideas to try this month: Building Resilience Together
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges, adapt to change, and keep going even when things get tough. This month, we’re focusing on ways families can help children develop resilience through simple, everyday activities. Try some of these ideas at home!
🌿 Nature & Resilience Walk
Take a family walk and explore how nature shows resilience! Can you spot any of these?
-
🌱 A plant growing through a sidewalk crack?
-
🌳 A tree bending in the wind but not breaking?
-
🐜 An ant carrying a heavy load?
As you walk, talk about how we can be resilient too—adapting, growing, and pushing forward even when things get tough. Nature is a great teacher!
💙 Service Learning Spotlight: Helping Others Build Resilience
Resilience isn’t just about bouncing back ourselves—it’s also about helping others rise.
This month, challenge your family to uplift someone who might need encouragement. Try one of these ideas:
✔ Write a kind note to a friend who’s struggling
✔ Offer to help someone with a tough task
✔ Take time to really listen and remind someone that they are strong
Let’s grow stronger together—just like nature. 🌻
