Weekly Update for November 2, 2026

Dear Families,

Our Trunk or Treat/Día de los Muertos event on Thursday night was fabulous! A huge thank you to Café con Leche and our 5th grade teachers for making this event happen. To all the families/staff that decorated trunks, ran tables, picked up or donated food, we appreciate your support!

With the arrival of November, our hearts are full of gratitude here at Truscott. The outpouring of voices, care, support and love for our school have been heard and felt. As we are no longer under consideration for closure or consolidation right now, we still need your help to spread the word of the wonderful opportunities provided at Truscott. Increasing our enrollment is the best way to ensure we keep Truscott’s doors open.

On Thursday, November 12, 2026, Thompson School District will host our annual Kindergarten Open House from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at Thompson Valley High School. This is a great opportunity for families to meet our amazing kindergarten teachers and learn more about our school.

Save the Date:

On Monday, November 9th we will be honoring any Veterans from within our school community at our all school assembly beginning at 7:50 am. If anyone in your family is a veteran we would like to honor you and hear about your rank and years of service. If you’d like to know more, please reach out to Mrs. Hanford.

On Wednesday, November 11th at 11:11 am, all Truscott students will be honoring our veterans during the Loveland Veterans Day parade which goes down Garfield Avenue. The parade lasts about one hour. As is a tradition here at Truscott, our students will line both sides of Garfield to wave flags and cheer for our veterans. We encourage students to wear red, white and blue to the parade. We love having families join us, so we hope to see you there! Please reach out to our front office if you have any questions.

Notice: 2026-27 Climate and Culture Survey

In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we ask students in grades 3-12 to participate in an online survey. The survey content asks students to self-reflect on emotional regulation, social awareness, growth mindset, perseverance,sense of belonging, school safety, and teacher-student relationships.

Your student will be invited to participate in the full online survey during regular school hours at the end of October. When the survey is introduced, students will be invited to participate and informed that they do not have to answer any questions they do not wish to answer. The full survey should take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete.

In addition to this full survey, students will also have opportunities throughout the year to take shorter, more frequent surveys called Check-ins. These Check-ins will take just a few minutes to complete and will use questions drawn from and aligned to the full survey. This will provide timely feedback on how students are feeling and engaging in their learning. The information gathered from Check-ins will help school staff provide more immediate and responsive support for students.

Student responses to both the full survey and Check-ins will follow our district’s expectations for maintaining confidentiality for your student. Our this-party vendor, Panorama, has signed the district's data privacy agreement to ensure all required online encryption protocols are followed.

Aviso: Encuesta sobre clima y cultura 2026-27

Para conocer mejor las experiencias de los estudiantes en la escuela, les pedimos a los alumnos de 3.º a 12.º grado que participen en una encuesta en línea. La encuesta les pide que reflexionen sobre la regulación emocional, la conciencia social, la mentalidad de crecimiento, la perseverancia, el sentido de pertenencia, la seguridad escolar y las relaciones entre profesores y alumnos.

Su hijo/a será invitado/a a participar en la encuesta en línea completa durante el horario escolar habitual a finales de octubre. Al presentar la encuesta, se invitará a los estudiantes a participar y se les informará que no están obligados a responder ninguna pregunta que no deseen contestar. La encuesta completa no debería tomar más de 20 a 30 minutos.
