St Peter'sPrimary SchoolFriday 1st March 2024

Lord, lift me up for Your blessings today.
I pray that you will anoint me with strength and self care today, tomorrow, and always.
I pray that You will grace me with patience and wisdom.
I pray that You will encourage me throughout the day to take the correct steps to walk proudly,
and behave well.

Amen

Message from the Principal Message from the Principal

WEEK OF WELLBEING (WOW WEEK) - During Week Five of each school term, we celebrate Wellbeing Week at St Peter’s Primary School. Our wellbeing incorporates many aspects, including physical, mental and emotional health. During Wellbeing Week, we can all take stock of our own wellbeing, as well looking out for the wellbeing of our loved ones and others in our community.

Throughout the week, students and staff are encouraged to make time for themselves by doing a wellbeing activity, such as journaling, meditation, yoga, exercising, cooking, playing or
talking with a close friend, and enjoying an afternoon walk. Enjoy your wellbeing week, having the opportunity to
move your bodies more, and have fun!

PARKING – NEIGHBOURS AND MERCY CARE DAYCARE -
This is a reminder to please be considerate of our neighbours and clients attending the Daycare next door. Please make sure you read the relevant signage, as well as being mindful of not parking on private property or blocking driveways. This also includes the vacant block on Salisbury Street across the road from the school. St Peter’s parents have provided feedback regarding becoming bogged in the sand on this vacant block of land, so please avoid parking on this private property to avoid this issue.

Please remember that there is NO parent parking in the Staff Car Parks on Wood Street or Salisbury Street. We also have two pick-up and drop-off zones for Pre Primary to Year 6 students – Wood Street and Salisbury Street. Please remember that parents must remain in their vehicle in the drop off and pick up zones.

Please see the NO STANDING zones below for each street:

Wood Street – No Standing from 7:30-8:30am and 2:30-3:30pm

Salisbury Street – No Standing from 7:45-8:35am and 2:45-2:30pm

Thank you in advance for your support!

NAPLAN - NAPLAN testing for Years 3 and 5 will be held in from Wednesday 13 March to Friday 22 March 2024. NAPLAN tests assess student knowledge and skills in Writing, Reading,

Conventions of Language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy. Teachers will be working with the students to ensure they are familiar with the test format, to reduce any anxiety. We aim for our students to not feel any increased pressure, and we always encourage students to “just try your best.”

PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS - In Week 9, commencing Monday 25 March, we will have Parent -Teacher Interviews. These interviews are a great opportunity to speak with your child’s teacher about how they have settled into the 2024 school year and how they are progressing in their learning. Please be mindful that interviews are scheduled for 15 minutes, so please be punctual. If you need more time with a particular teacher, please arrange a separate time for a longer meeting. Parents will be notified when the online booking system opens.

ST PETER’S MUSIC AND INSTRUMENTAL PROGRAM - In 2024, we have welcomed our new Music teacher, Mr Lucian Watkins. Mr Watkins teaches Kindy – Year 6 classes each week, as well as co-ordinates our Instrumental Program.

Please note, that the Instrumental Program for 2024 is now closed. If you have any questions regarding the Music or Instrumental Program at St Peter’s Primary School, please direct your questions towards Mr Lucian Watkins, not the individual music tutors. Thank you for your ongoing support!

I wish all our families an enjoyable long weekend! We look forward to seeing you all back at school on Tuesday 5 March!
