Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been another exciting and eventful week at Larks Hill filled with enrichment opportunities and wonderful achievements across school.

Go Ape!

On Monday, Years 1 and 2 enjoyed their funded Go Ape trip, followed by Years 3 and 4 on Tuesday. The children displayed great courage and determination as they navigated the high ropes courses. We are very proud of how they represented Larks Hill - a huge well done to all of them for their teamwork and resilience. We would also like to extend our thanks to the parents and carers who kindly volunteered their time to support with supervision; your help was greatly appreciated!

EYFS Open Evening

On Tuesday evening, we were delighted to welcome families to our EYFS Open Evening for prospective parents. The event was a real success, with many parents commenting on the warm, supportive atmosphere and high-quality provision within our Early Years setting.

SEND Coffee Morning

On Wednesday morning, we held our SEND Coffee Morning, and it was wonderful to see so many parents and carers in attendance. Thank you very much for joining us - as always, we welcome ongoing conversations to ensure we continue to meet the needs of all of our children across school.

Thrill on the Hill 2!

Thursday evening saw the return of our hugely popular ‘Thrill on the Hill 2’ Halloween festival which was another fantastic success! From spooky stalls and games to creative costumes and pumpkin displays, the event was a real success. We are very grateful to be part of a generous school community and thanks to this, we raised an amazing £1,071.34 which will go directly towards enriching experiences and resources for pupils. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who planned, prepared, volunteered, and supported the evening - it was a real team effort.

Fancy Dress Competition Winners

As part of the Halloween celebrations, pupils also came to school dressed in their spookiest costumes. The competition for best dressed was tough, but our Junior Leadership Team chose the following winners.

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

After half term we will once again be supporting the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.

Our Year 6 pupils will visit classes on Tuesday 4th November with various items for sale. Items will range from a minimum donation of £1 for slap bands to 20p-50p for button tags and wrist bands, with any donation for a standard paper poppy. The items will be brought round to classes each day that week so children have the opportunity to buy the items they want. We hope you will help support this worthy cause.

Our wonderful JLT members, who dedicated their own time to help prepare and run stalls at yesterday evening’s Thrill on the Hill 2.

Have a wonderful and restful half-term break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday 4th November for another exciting term ahead at Larks Hill.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Reynolds
