Labor Day Holiday: No School

Dear New Ellenton Middle School Families,

As part of Aiken County Public Schools’ district-wide safety initiative, all students are required to wear school-issued ID badges during the school day. New Ellenton Middle School students have been issued these IDs and have been wearing them daily.

Wearing IDs helps us ensure that everyone on campus is accounted for and authorized to be here, enhancing the safety and security of our school community.

Here’s what families need to know:
• ID badges must be worn daily during school hours.
• Replacement badges will cost $5 if lost.
• Temporary IDs will be available each day for $1. ($1 charge begins Monday, August 18, 2025)
• No cash will be taken, and charges will be placed on PowerSchool/Parent Portal.
• Parents will be notified once a student’s ID-related charges reach $10.
• Student PowerSchool accounts will be billed each quarter for any outstanding fines.
• There is a small credit-card fee for PowerSchool payments.

We appreciate your partnership in supporting this important safety measure. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our front office. Together, we can ensure New Ellenton Middle remains a safe and welcoming place for all students.

Karen Fiery
Principal, NEMS

If you don’t know Officer Tuper, he is our School Resource Officer here at New Ellenton Middle. He has served with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Department for many years and has spent the last five as an SRO. Cpl. Tuper brings so many unique talents to our school—he’s skilled in 3D printing and even helped our students create the New Ellenton Middle School sign that greets you at the front door. He’s also often found playing guitar for students at lunch or as they arrive in the mornings. We are grateful to have Cpl. Tuper in our building and appreciate the way he invests in building strong relationships with our students every day.

There will be an interest meeting for all 7-12 grade students interested in playing soccer for the Silver Bluff High School Soccer Team on September 4 at. 6:30 pm. It will be held in the SBHS Cafeteria. Please register prior to the meeting by going here: https://forms.office.com/r/s0x664aUZF

Want to make car line go faster? A sign with your child or family's last name would help tremendously! Prop it up on your dash, use a pants hanger to hang from your rear view mirror, or wave it out the window like you're on ESPN Game Day. It will be at least a month before we have your vehicle and all your relatives' vehicles memorized.
