Message from Principal Martinez ๐Ÿพ

Dear Wildcat Families:

I enjoyed meeting many of you at our Back to School Night! Thank you for your involvement in your childโ€™s academic success by connecting with your childโ€™s teacher and learning more about how you can be involved at Pomerado. Here are a few updates for the week:

Safety Drill Practice:

This week, your child practiced a school wide evacuation drill. They were taken to their teacherโ€™s assigned evacuation location and learned how to get there safely and quietly. Our students and staff did an amazing job!

Hot Weather Procedure:

Our school has a hot weather plan to handle the high temperatures weโ€™ve been experiencing. We monitor the temperature and respond according to CDE guidelines. When temperatures reach high levels, we transition our recess times to various options that may include shortened outdoor play time, shady options, or moving recess to indoors.

You can partner with us by ensuring your child is prepared in the following ways:

  • Send children with refillable water bottles to allow them to frequently hydrate. We have water stations throughout our school to allow for unlimited access to water.

  • Dress students in lightweight, light-colored, breathable clothing.

  • Apply sunscreen before school.

Parking Lot Dropoff

  • Please be sure to pull all the way forward to the gate prior to allowing your child to exit your vehicle. Students should only use the passenger side doors

  • Please make your goodbyes brief to keep the flow of traffic moving. If you need more time for your goodbye routine, please park your car in a marked parking space.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe!

Go Wildcats!
