Creating Time Travel Brochures
Ms. Ryan's 8th grade students were learning about the Earth's geologic time scale. Students researched a time period of their choice and then created a travel brochure for this period. Attached are a couple of examples. One student created an app!

6th Grade Greek Olympics
This past Monday the Orange Team competed in their Annual Greek Olympics. The students worked in groups, in their Social Studies classes, to complete a research project based on ancient Greek city-states and the gods and goddesses associated with them. The students then presented their projects to their classmates at the opening ceremony! Afterwards, the classes faced off in many exciting athletic events. In the end, it was Mr. Goodwin's class, representing Thebes, who won the day, placing first. Next, came Mrs. Welch's class, representing Athens, who came in second place. Finally, coming in third, was Ms. Altomare's class, representing Argos. It was a great day to celebrate this awesome Greek tradition!
Pictured is our winning team: Mr. Goodwin's class who represented Thebes! Congratulations!

“Kindness Rocks!” Lessons of Inspiration
During the month of June, counselors at Fernwood conducted “Kindness Rocks” lessons to 8th grade students during their convocations. Students were given blank rocks to leave their “mark” on Fernwood by writing a positive statement to leave behind. The rocks were placed in our fountain to help inspire FMS students!
