Letters to Santa Help Make-A-Wish Children

Last week students at North Syracuse Junior High School took part in an important letter writing campaign to a very influential figure - Santa. As part of Macy's Believe Campaign to support Make-A-Wish, NSJH students wrote their own letters to Santa. Make-A-Wish is an organization that provides life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses and through the Believe partnership, Macy's donates $1 to the organization up to $1 million.

Cicero Elementary School Students' "Scribble Stones" Will Become Heartfelt Gifts

Cicero Elementary School Counselor Molly Murphy recently completed a project with her students to create personalized gifts for people they care about. Murphy used the book Scribble Stones by Diane Alber, which tells the story of a happy little stone on a mission to spread happiness, to talk to students about bringing joy to others. The students then selected their own stones and used materials to create colorful and unique gifts for people in their lives.

Nationwide Service Disruptions Impacting School Meals

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we are seeing nationwide disruptions to manufacturing, supply and distribution channels. You may have experienced this yourself when you’ve tried to order something online or buy something in the store and what you’re looking for isn’t available right now.

What does the shortage mean for school meals? In short, it means that we’re having trouble getting certain foods and supplies. Your student(s) may notice that we’re serving different items than we’ve served in the past or different items than were listed on the menu.

School districts across the country are experiencing these shortages and unfortunately, we cannot control the problem. We are doing our best every day to come up with solutions to these challenges.
