Zitzman Family Tribes!
I have described our Staff and Student Family Tribe system in previous Chief Weekly's but we are now at the point where some Family Tribes are starting to collect donations and complete projects.
🐶 Barking with Joy – Help Our Local Shelter! 🐾
Zitzman Elementary’s Family Tribes are in full swing with their service learning projects, and our Barking with Joy & Fetch Some Kindness groups are on a mission to support on of our local dog shelters, Dirks Fund!
We’re collecting donations to help meet specific needs for the shelter, and we need your help! Check out the video below to learn more about how you can contribute.
Donations Needed: medium size milk bones, Dawn dish soap, and paper towels
Drop-off Location: Dropbox located at the Main entrance and at the bus doors.
Every little bit helps give these pups the love and care they deserve!
Thank you for supporting our students as they make a difference in the community! #BarkingWithJoy #FetchSomeKindness #ServiceLearning #ZitzmanElementary #HelpingPaws
Zitzman Staff Family!
Honoring Mrs. Lee’s Legacy
The staff at Zitzman Elementary is coming together for a special service-learning project, inspired by our shared passions and strengths. This year and in the years to come, we are dedicating our efforts to honoring the legacy of Mrs. Lee—a beloved former teacher, longtime educator in MVR3, and dear friend to many.
One of our goals is to enhance Mrs. Lee’s outdoor classroom by adding shade and various upgrades, ensuring that her love for learning and nature continues to inspire future generations. But we didn’t want to stop there! With the support of Mrs. Lee’s family, we are thrilled to introduce the Mrs. Lee’s Legacy of Love Scholarship—a new opportunity for Pacific High School seniors to apply for and continue their educational journey.
We cannot wait to support an MVR3 student as they take their next steps, carrying forward the love, kindness, and passion for education that Mrs. Lee always shared.
See below for all the details, and please share with any PHS Senior who may be interested

April Pillar Focus: Resilience
Family resilience themed ideas to try this month: Building Resilience Together
Resilience is the ability to bounce back from challenges, adapt to change, and keep going even when things get tough. This month, we’re focusing on ways families can help children develop resilience through simple, everyday activities. Try some of these ideas at home!
🏆 Family Challenge: Bounce Back Bingo
Want to make resilience fun? Try our "Bounce Back Bingo" challenge! Create a bingo board with activities that help build resilience, such as:
✅ Try again after something doesn’t go your way
✅ Help a friend solve a problem
✅ Stay calm when frustrated
✅ Try something new, even if it’s scary
Mark off the squares as you complete them and celebrate progress along the way!
📖 Story Time with a Lesson
Books are a great way to help kids understand resilience. Try reading one of these books together and talk about how the characters handled challenges:
📚 The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires – Learning from mistakes
📚 Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae – Overcoming self-doubt
📚 Rosie Revere, Engineer by Andrea Beaty – Perseverance and creativity
Ask your child: How did the character show resilience? Have you ever had to keep trying when something was hard?
Weekly Check-In Poll:
For the adults at home:
How has ZE's new Family Tribe Time impacted your child?
For the kiddos at home:
Which service project would your family enjoy doing?
