You all did so well on your special day and everyone looked fantastic! I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Ms. Wall for her exceptional efforts in preparing the children for this important Sacrament and sincere thanks also to Fr. Vincent for the lovely ceremony. A huge thank you to Jane and the children in the choir, it was such a lovely addition to the ceremony and I appreciate all the practice and hard work the choir have put in over the past months. Finally, I would like to acknowledge the remarkable support of our Parents Association and the incredible generosity of all the parents who selflessly volunteered their time to assist with the preparations and hospitality for the children and their families on this special day.

This Monday, May 20th, our school will be hosting the Fitter Younger School Marathon Relay fundraising event. This event is a wonderful opportunity for our children to participate in a collective effort to run the distance of a marathon, all while raising funds for our school's needs.

Every child at Dangan NS will have the chance to contribute by running a few hundred meters each, combining their efforts to achieve this ambitious goal. We will provide a timetable detailing when each child will be running their laps and parents are welcome to come in and cheer on the children. Each child will receive a sponsorship card to bring home. We kindly ask for your support in helping your child reach out to friends and family for sponsorship. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference. There is also the option of donating through Aladdin if you would prefer. The payment link is on Aladdin but this is optional.

The funds raised from this event will primarily go towards playground markings for our newly tarmacked yard. Additionally, any additional funds collected will be allocated towards purchasing sensory equipment for our pupils, enhancing their learning environment and overall experience at school.

This is an initiative that will be led by 6th-class pupils. All pupils will be asked to pay a small fee of 5e per child or 10euro per family towards the running of the Fun Day and any profits made will be invested back into the school. The 6th-class pupils have promised that the boys and girls are going to have a great day filled with various activities including a jumble sale, quizzes, and board games. We are all really looking forward to it! More details to follow!

Rounder’s

The boys rounders team had a superb win last Friday against our neighbours Coole NS. After recently losing to Coole in the 5 a side soccer, the boys showed great determination and teamwork to earn a narrow victory. The boys now have two wins in the competition with a previous win over Gaelscoil na Ríthe. The boys advance to play the winners of Oristown and Dunderry in the coming weeks. Well done to everyone involved!

Camogie

Ms Byrne was very proud of the camogie girls and the performance they put in against Rathcairn last Thursday. While the result didn't go their way, it was a thrilling match to watch! Well Done Girls!
