Recognizing the Best! - MTES PTO
"There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer" - General James H. Doolittle
At MTES, we have THE BEST Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Led by an incredible team of board members (Jeff Thoroman, Jennifer Thoroman, Erika Miller, Jacklyn Brobeck, Jessica Six), this group of parent volunteers continuously find ways to bless the staff and students at Miami Trace Elementary School. Their efforts have provided: field trips, holiday parties, staff gifts, staff meals, student experiences, and more! There is no way to put into words how much their selfless acts mean to us, so we simply say "THANK YOU!"
PTO Fundraiser a HUGE success!
Thanks to the many supporters of MTES and our students, the recent PTO fundraiser was able to generate over $86,000 in sales, resulting in over $35,000 in proceeds! These proceeds will go directly to supporting student programs, experiences, and supplies. We would like to take this time to say THANK YOU to everyone that made this a success.
*Item pickup will be on Monday, December 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the MTES gymnasium. Due to storage requirements, this is the only time that items can be picked up. If you cannot make it at that time, please send a relative or friend to pick your items up.
Wearing Many Hats
Melissa Steele is one of the many teachers at MTES who provides the best possible instruction to her students. Anyone that enters her classroom can quickly see that her students are provided with unique and exceptional opportunities for engagement and learning. Mrs. Steele teaches 2nd grade ELA with Mrs. Desi Reno. They are truly a "dynamic duo" that exemplify what a co-teaching partnership can be. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Steele also serves as the President of the Miami Trace Education Association (MTEA), as well as the 504 Coordinator for Miami Trace Elementary School. One of the unique talents of Mrs. Steele is her ability to speak Spanish, which she uses regularly within her setting to assist our EL students. How she balances wearing all of these "hats," we'll never know... but we sure do appreciate her!
