The News The News

Happy Spring Time! I hope it is not a tease. This weather is awesome for early March. We are looking forward to upper 70s and low 80s this week with small chances of rain. (It will probably be cold and wet all week now!) And, the days are getting longer! We spring forward next weekend.

With Spring comes state testing time. Our juniors will be working hard for the next two and half weeks to get ready for the ACT. We purchased a program to help our Juniors and all of our students learn how to take the ACT. Teachers are supposed to be using this program daily in their Bobcat Period classrooms to prepare our students. Talent Search will be doing an ACT Bootcamp for some our Juniors this week and we will do one next week for all of our Juniors.

Congratulations to Anna Faye Prince (Senior) for winning our 2026 Dream Girl pageant Friday night. Congratulations to Saylor Waid (7th Grade) on winning the Junior Dream Girl division. All of the girls did great! It takes a lot of courage to get out on that stage and be judged. I'm proud of all of them!

I started the Bobcat Leadership Academy this year for our students to come up with ideas to improve our school and hear from successful alumni. This week Jennifer Davis Rash (Class of 89) drove all the way from Birmingham to speak to our students. She talked about TIME- what you do with the time you have and how you use it. She did a great job! Jennifer is now the president and editor-in-chief of TAB Media Group based in Birmingham.

Our JAG program held a LifeSouth Blood Drive last week. They reached their goal of 30. Thank you to all who game blood and maybe helped save a life.

Congratulations to our baseball team! After starting the season with two losses they have now won five straight including four this week beating Winston County, Haleyville, Sulligent, and Covenant Christian. Our softball team beat Covenant Christian on Saturday.
