2026 USD Cyber Law & Risk Symposium
"THE NEW FRONTIER"
The landscape is changing. The frontier is expanding. The cyber law + risk thought leadership starts here.
As artificial intelligence reshapes decision-making, cyber threats move at machine speed, regulators introduce unprecedented oversight obligations, and geopolitical uncertainty challenges long-standing assumptions, organizations are operating in an entirely new frontier of risk. Now in its 8th year, the USD Cyber Law & Risk Symposium brings together leaders from cybersecurity, law, government, insurance, risk management, technology, and academia to explore the emerging challenges defining the next era of governance, resilience, and innovation. Hosted by the University of San Diego's Center for Cybersecurity Engineering and Technology (CCSET) and School of Law, the Symposium has become one of the nation's premier forums for cross-disciplinary dialogue on cyber risk and accountability.
This year's theme, The New Frontier: Cyber Law & Risk at the Speed of AI, recognizes that organizations are entering uncharted territory. From AI-enabled vulnerabilities and product liability concerns to quantum-era risks, critical infrastructure threats, and expanding regulatory expectations, leaders must navigate a rapidly evolving landscape where traditional playbooks are no longer enough.
Featured Discussions Include:
• A rare fireside conversation with the California Privacy Protection Agency on California's new cybersecurity audit and risk assessment requirements
• AI vulnerabilities and cyber threats operating at machine speed
• Emerging liability frameworks for AI-enabled products, autonomous systems, and intelligent technologies
• Quantum computing, cyber insurance, and "harvest now, decrypt later" risk scenarios
• Critical infrastructure security, national resilience, and public-private collaboration
• The human side of cyber response, including decision-making under pressure and crisis leadership
• Global legal and regulatory developments shaping cyber governance and enforcement
• Interactive debates examining the most challenging questions facing cyber, legal, and risk leaders today
Who Should Attend?
• Chief Information Security Officers and security leaders
• General Counsel and legal professionals
• Privacy, compliance, and governance executives
• Risk managers and insurance professionals
• Board members and executive leadership teams
• Public sector and critical infrastructure stakeholders
• Technology, AI, and cybersecurity practitioners
• The Symposium's unique value lies in bringing together voices that rarely share the same stage. Lawyers and technologists. Regulators and industry leaders. Risk professionals and security practitioners. Academics and operators. These conversations move beyond theory to provide practical strategies, real-world lessons, and actionable insights for organizations facing increasingly complex cyber and technology risks.
Continuing Legal Education
Legal professionals may earn up to 7.0 hours of California MCLE credit while gaining practical guidance on the legal, regulatory, and operational developments reshaping the cyber landscape.
Join us in San Diego on Thursday, November 12, 2026, as we explore the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities awaiting organizations on the new frontier of cyber law and risk.
Register early to secure your place at one of the nation’s most impactful cyber law gatherings!
