Message from Principal Haroldson
A Message from Mr. Haroldson
Dear Families,
The second semester is well underway. I continue to enjoy interacting with all your students both in classrooms and in common areas. Your kids bring so much positive energy to these hallways everyday. It’s been an excellent start to the semester!
As we focus on maximizing instructional time, we have recently implemented our updated tardy policy. Our goal is to ensure that every student is in their seat and ready to learn the moment the bell rings. We know that consistency is the key to student success, and reducing transitions helps maintain a calm, focused environment for everyone.
I am currently monitoring our data closely, and I look forward to sharing more detailed updates regarding the positive impact this policy is having on our school culture in the coming weeks and months.
If you have any questions, concerns, or if there is anything your family needs as we navigate this new semester, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I value your feedback as we work together to support our students. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with your kids every day!
Sincerely,
Ryan Haroldson
SHS Principal
📌New Tardy Policy Reminder
To minimize classroom disruptions, we have implemented a revised attendance policy. Please note the following definitions for late arrivals:
Tardy: A student arriving at class within the first 5 minutes after the bell will be marked "Tardy."
Unexcused Absence: A student arriving more than 5 minutes after the bell will be marked with an "Unexcused Absence" for that period.

HMUN Returns from Boston
16 Superior High School students traveled to Boston for five days to explore the city's history, have some fun, and most importantly, serve as delegates representing the interests of Bosnia-Herzegovina in thirteen different committees and as members of Met Gala Crisis Committee and Designated Survivor Specialized Body at the 73rd annual Harvard Model United Nations. Our students joined thousands of students from hundreds of schools representing dozens of countries to participate in seven sessions of international relations work, hoping to resolve the world's (or in some cases, the solar system's) most pressing present and potential issues. In addition to lessons on current and historical events, procedure, and public discourse, students learn history, interpersonal skills, crisis management, impromptu speaking and writing, and improve their organization and leadership abilities. They build connections with their teammates and delegates from around the world, discovering new things about themselves along the way.
Every year, we try to explain what model UN is, and there is just truly nothing else quite like it! Advisors Keith and Rachael would like to recognize the students for their commitment to research, planning, engagement, and last, but certainly not least, the kindness, support, and good humor they showed each other. We also wish to recognize our returning HMUN members (Kellsey, Ivy, Dylan, Stella, Tegan, and Amelia) for their dedication to our activity and leadership on the team.
