Dear MGA Families,
As we close out this school year, my heart is full. This final newsletter message is one I never imagined writing so soon, and it comes with both sadness and deep gratitude. I will be transitioning to another school next year, but MGA will always be home for me. This community has shaped me, inspired me, and left an imprint that I will carry throughout my career.
I cannot say enough about the impact MGA has had on me. The joy of watching our students grow, the privilege of partnering with dedicated families, and the honor of leading such an extraordinary staff have been among the greatest gifts of my professional life. We have built memories together, overcome challenges together, and grown tremendously together. For that, I am forever grateful.
I am excited for the future of MGA under the leadership of Ms. Bakayoko, who will continue to guide this school with vision, steadiness, and heart. Our assistant principals, Ms. Kemper, Mr. McDowell, and Mr. Shipley will remain anchors of intentional, student-centered leadership. MGA is in excellent hands.
Our teachers and staff are the foundation of this school. They have poured themselves into ensuring superb instruction, nurturing the whole child, and preparing our students to remain globally competitive. Their dedication this year has been nothing short of remarkable.
Tomorrow, we look forward to celebrating our 5th and 8th grade students as they are promoted to the next chapter of their educational journey. Parents, please be sure to follow the directions shared by your child’s grade level team regarding promotion ceremonies.
This has been a fantastic year: one filled with learning, laughter, growth, and community. Thank you, families, for your continued partnership. You are the heart of MGA, and your support is what makes this school such a special place.
Though I am stepping into a principal role elsewhere, a part of me will always remain here. MGA will forever be home.
With deep appreciation,
April Murphy
