Weekly K12 Zone Guide
May 21st

🔒 A Quick Reminder for Families with Younger Students
Starting June 2nd, schools will be opted into the National K12 Zones — an exciting virtual space where students can connect, explore, and engage all summer long!
If your student is 12 or under, a quick parental consent form is required before they can join the National Zone. While we’re working on a simpler process for next school year, this summer still uses the current system.
💡 Why this matters:
Without consent, students under 13 won’t be able to access the National Zone. We’d love for your student to take full advantage of everything it offers — from scavenger hunts to creative clubs and more!
✅ What to do:
The process only takes a few minutes, and we’ve made it easy to get started with the resources below:
📌 Step-by-step flyers

Thank you for helping us create a safe, fun, and welcoming experience for every student this summer! 💙
🌟 Talent Show Winners Announced TONIGHT at 5PM ET!
The K12 Zone Talent Show wraps up today, and we’re so excited to celebrate the incredible creativity of students from across the country!
🎉 At 5:00 PM ET this evening (Wednesday, May 21st), we’ll announce the 10 randomly selected winners inside the Auditorium of the K12 National Zone. Each winner will receive a $20 Amazon gift card — no judges, no voting, just a fun way to celebrate student expression!
💬 If your student submitted a video — or just wants to cheer on their peers — encourage them to hop into the Zone and tap the ❤️ on their favorite entries. The hearts don’t impact who wins, but they’re a great way to show support and encouragement.
👇 Click below to view the submissions and celebrate all the talent on display!
🎥 Final Call: Student Video Challenge Ends This Week!
We’re in the final days of the K12 Zone Student Video Challenge — and there’s still time for your student to enter!
Encourage them to create a short (60-second), vertical video answering:
“What do YOU love about the K12 Zone?”
It could be the games, the emotes, the friends they’ve made, or the fun of learning in a new way — whatever makes the Zone special to them.
📅 Submissions due: May 23
🗳️ Public voting: May 26–30
🏆 Prizes: $250 gift card for one winner in each grade band
🎉 Winning videos will be featured across the K12 community!
This is a fun, creative way for students to reflect on their experience — and your encouragement could be the spark they need to share their voice! 💙

🌍 School Zones vs. National Zones — What’s the Difference?
Every K12-powered school is different when it comes to Zone access:
-
🏫 Some schools have School Zones (no parent consent needed)
-
🌎 Some have opted into the National K12 Zones (consent needed if your student is 12 or under)
-
🔄 Some offer both, and a few may offer neither
Your student’s access depends on what their school has chosen to provide.
✅ Check with your school directly to find out which Zones are available!
Parental Consent Needed for National K12 Zone Access (Ages 12 & Under)
