It's a Good Day in PreK
Leapin' Leprechauns!
R is for...Robots! 🤖
Students in Mrs. Lavoo's classroom at Berlin were out of this world with their arts and crafts last month. Here are some examples of robots they made with classroom supplies. Below, students in Mrs. Heath's classroom also were busy with their robot creations. Here are two examples of a Princess Robot and a Monster Truck Robot!
Botley the Robot
Our prek classes had a visit from a special type of robot this month. Botley the Robot was introduced to the students by Stephanie Carbone from Questar's Model Schools. Botley the Coding Robot teaches the basics of coding through active play. After a short lesson the students were broken into pairs where they programmed Botley and watched him perform their tasks. The laughter and fun was contagious!
V is for Valentines 💗
Our sites were full of love last month! Here are some photos from our littlest Valentines.
Sweet Shop
Students at Green Meadow were buying some sweets at the Sweet Shop!
Valentines
At a play station at Genet, students could create Valentines and mail them. This was TOO SWEET!
Cairo Charcuterie
Mrs. MacGiffert's class at Cairo celebrated Valentine's day with some serious snacks!
V is for Volcanoes 🌋
Students in Mrs. Lavoo's classroom at Berlin were Volcanologists for the day. Besides the excitement of watching them erupt, these hands-on activities teach children how combining ingredients create a chemical reaction. Just look at their faces! I'd say they had a good time.
Winter Fun!
Want to make a snowman?
Students in our classroom at Red Mill took advantage of the snow and made snowmen! There are so many advantages of getting outside, and this winter has been so cold that they have been few and far between.
Ice Skating
Our preschoolers at Ichabod Crane braved the cold to go ice skating at the Empire State Plaza. Check out the attached link for more information on skating at the Plaza! https://empirestateplaza.ny.gov/ice-rink
100 days of school!
All of our sites celebrated their 100th day in school! This is a huge accomplishment for our preschoolers as it marks a milestone in their educational journey. 100 days is a substantial amount of time spent in their classrooms where they have learned so many new things. Also, the number 100 is often the largest number they can conceptualize at this stage making it easier for them to celebrate. Congrats preschoolers! Below are some of our students in Mrs. Ferretti's class at Catskill celebrating 100 days.
