Message from Nicole Pease Principal Message from Nicole Pease Principal

Hello everyone, I hope your week has been good. This week at DCS has been amazing! Monday, our Holiday Tree that was in Peterborough returned to DCS. It is our beautiful caring tree! We were so fortunate to hike up the hill on Tuesday for the Peace Pole Dedication, despite the chilly temperatures. There were students from other schools and we all gathered around the pole. It was lovely to hear from members of the committee that spearheaded this venture, as well as to join in singing some songs about peace. I look forward to visiting the Dublin Peace Pole often.

Yesterday, the staff was able to enjoy lunch together. It is so nice to spend time as a group and catching up with with each other, thank you to the parents that helped us make this happen.

We are gearing up for next week with the Holiday Shoppe on Tuesday and the Round Robin on Friday. The Holiday Shoppe is where students will select gifts for their family members. The Round Robin is a festive morning when students will engage in a variety of stations and create ornaments and other festive crafts. Thank you so much to Vicki Brown for her careful planning of this event!

Please see the flyer below about an after school opportunity at Dublin School.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, stay warm. Nicole

Note from Robin Gregg, School Counselor Note from Robin Gregg, School Counselor

This time of year is a joyous time for many, and also a busy and sometimes stressful time. Here at school, too, there are special seasonal and holiday events, as you know. We do try to keep things calm, though, and to maintain routines, to provide the students with some predictability and comfort during a season that can prompt a full array of strong emotions. When I am at DCS on Thursdays, I meet with children individually and in small groups during the day. I invite students to meet with me alone or with a classmate or two, during their snack and lunch time, for conversation, to play a game, use art materials, and/or just to spend a short time in a quiet place where there is someone (their school counselor!) who is available and has time to listen. I check in with the teachers to see if any students seem to need additional attention or support during this season (and all year). I also welcome communication from you, our students' families, so please reach out if you wish to share concerns. Thank you!
