Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We hope you’ve had a nice, although soggy, week and like us, are thankful that the rain was not snow! It’s been nice to have a full five-day school week to wrap up the third quarter of the 2025-2026 school year.
As a reminder, students are not in school on Monday, March 9th, as our staff will be engaging in a Professional Learning/Data Day. The first day of the fourth quarter will be on Tuesday, March 10th.
This is the time of a school year when a high school is closing out and celebrating one school year while working on the next. Our guidance department is quite busy with the individual scheduling meetings with students in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year. Our Class of 2026 seniors will be participating in scholarship interviews, finalizing post-graduation plans, and celebrating safely with their classmates as the May 21st graduation date approaches. The final quarter will certainly fly by!
Please read through the Upcoming Important Dates in this newsletter. This is one way to make sure you stay informed about what is happening at BHS. We also try to link in flyers and important links to help our families stay informed.
We hope you have a great weekend, and we look forward to seeing our students back on Tuesday, March 10th.
In service to our Bulldogs.

Hello, Families.
Maybe we have finally reached the point of warmer spring days ahead. There continues to be more daylight during this time of the year as we approach the first day of spring on March 20th. I always enjoyed teaching the astronomy of seasons and planets.
Our student drivers continue to do a good job being safe on school property. Ther is one item you may want to share with your student(s) as I help clear the parking lot in the afternoon. Please remind them on rainy days, when the windshield wipers are on, to also turn on their headlights for safety.
Lastly, anyone in need of a parking pass for the last quarter of school, please come see me.
Have a nice weekend.
Joe Moorehead, Dean of Students

Guardians can track their student's progress and support their journey toward post-secondary success. The FAFSA Application is Open!!!!
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for students entering or attending college for the 2026-27 academic year is up and running! Any student that is thinking about attending any type of education/training after high school should complete the FAFSA - technical school, trade school, community college, public university, or private university. The FAFSA is what determines your eligibility for student loans, grants, work-study, and scholarships - thus, it is VERY important that you complete and submit it. Keep in mind, all students are eligible for student loans! We will continue to share information and helpful resources with you and your family as we receive it!
The Ohio Department of Higher Education would like to share that the 2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available for all families to complete. Families who want to start filling out the FAFSA now can start the process at studentaid.gov.
