Digital Citizenship Week
This week at Madison Middle School and throughout the Vista Unified School District, we are celebrating Digital Citizenship Week. Digital citizenship is the ability to use technology and the internet in a safe, responsible, and ethical manner. Click on the DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP IMAGE for a short video. As middle school students gain greater freedom and access to devices, their use of cell phones and social media becomes a significant part of their everyday lives. While these devices and platforms can be beneficial and fun, they can also present dangers.
Through lessons integrated into all subject areas this week, students will participate in activities designed to teach and emphasize healthy and safe habits and behavior when engaging with both familiar people and strangers online. For more information, please see last week's special edition of the VUSD community update. We will also be sending out a short Parent Square message each day with tips and information that you can discuss with your students. Please join us by continuing the conversation at home!
