Principal's Message
Dear Wildcat Families,
We’re halfway through the spring sports season, and our athletes continue to shine! The Erwin Track and Field team is making history—fresh off first-place finishes in their opening meets and a second-place finish at our Mid-Conference Meet last Wednesday against five other schools. Three new school records have already been set, proving that the sky’s the limit for these dedicated student-athletes. On Thursday, April 16th, our runners, jumpers, and throwers will head to Ridgeline Middle School to take on Windsor and Peakview, starting at 4:00 p.m.
Our Unified Basketball team will host Windsor here at Erwin on Wednesday, April 15th, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Come show your support for our incredible athletes! Lastly, on Monday, April 13th, our Golf team competes at Cattail Creek Golf Course against High Plains K-8. Good luck, Wildcats!
A huge THANK YOU to our outstanding staff for a smooth and successful week of CMAS testing. Their preparation, classroom structure, and consistency made all the difference. This time of year is always demanding, and their positivity and flexibility ensured students had the best possible testing experience. We’re excited to finish strong with 8th Grade Science on Tuesday!
Thank you, parents and guardians, for your continued encouragement, flexibility, and partnership this week. Your support at home helps our students stay focused and confident! GO WILDCATS! ROAR!
Kind regards,
Jeanette Ryan
Principal

Pop-Up Taco Restaurant at LEMS
Our incredible LEMS ILC students recently hosted a pop-up taco restaurant for staff, and it was a huge success! Students gained hands-on experience by taking orders, prepping food, and serving customers. They learned firsthand how a restaurant operates.
It was clear how much preparation went into this event. Their hard work, teamwork, and attention to detail truly paid off, and they did an absolutely fantastic job! Taco ‘Bout a Great Day at LEMS!
After ILC students spent the day serving others, the tables turned in the best way! The students headed out on a field trip to Perkins to enjoy being the customers themselves. What a fun and rewarding experience for everyone involved!
7th Grade Science
Our 7th-grade Wildcats are thinking outside the box for their IB Investigation Design projects! They are testing how different variables affect green bean growth using some very unconventional methods. Instead of standard soil and water, students are watering plants with soda or Gatorade, planting seeds in wet pasta, and even trying to grow beans in slime! We can't wait to see the results of these fun and creative experiments.
Way to be bold and inquisitive, 7th grade!
6th Grade Take Your Child to Work Day
Dear 6th Grade Families,
Please take a moment to review the attached letter regarding an exciting upcoming opportunity for our sixth grade students. As part of our building and team goals, students will participate in a job shadowing experience aligned with the national "Take Your Child to Work Day" on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Hard copies of the letter/permission slip will be sent home with students on Monday, April 14, 2026. Please complete and return the permission slip by Friday, April 17, so we can plan accordingly for any students who will not be participating.

Please Donate Your Used Sneakers - We Need Your Help to Fill the Box
The LEMS PTO GotSneakers fundraiser is up and running and will continue through May 1!
So far, we have only collected a small portion of used sneakers, and we would love your help in reaching our goal.
It’s hard to believe that an estimated 600 million pairs of shoes end up in America’s landfills every year. The good news is that 100% of sneakers can be recycled, and many can even be reused. By donating your used sneakers, you’ll be helping the environment while also supporting LEMS PTO.
We are collecting used athletic sneakers only in the collection box located outside the LEMS front office.
This is a fundraiser for LEMS PTO, and all proceeds will go toward supporting our students and school programs.
Thank you for supporting LEMS PTO and helping reduce waste!
