Kegonsa Family Newsletter
2024 - 2025
June 6, 2025
Good afternoon, Kegonsa!
What a fantastic week we’ve had at Kegonsa! The sunshine made a strong showing—aside from a few rainy and smoky moments mid-week. Our days were filled with fun, learning, and celebration. 5th graders had a big week with their visit to River Bluff on Monday and their final Kegonsa music performance on Thursday. We are so proud of our almost-graduates and look forward to one more short (and sweet!) week with them.
Believe it or not, there are just four days of school left! Our last day is Thursday, June 12, with an early release at 11:00 AM. We invite all families to join us at 10:30 for our BIG Bubble Walk sendoff, taking place on the path between the small and large playgrounds. Both circles will be blocked off, so please allow extra time to park and head around back—no check-in required. We’ll be cheering on every student, because at Kegonsa, we celebrate all!
A huge shout-out to our Ag in the Classroom essay contest winners—both 4th and 5th grade brought home silver and bronze across all of Wisconsin! We capped off the week with a joyful Field Day and our all-school family picnic. Thank you to everyone who was able to join us. We appreciate your partnership and energy—always!
Enjoy the weekend, and we’ll see you for the final countdown on Monday!💙 Erin
Celebrating Our Award-Winning Writers!
We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the Dane County Ag in the Classroom Essay Contest! Congratulations to our talented fifth graders, Irelynn and Sarah, who earned 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, and to our amazing fourth-grade writers, Lai and Sawyer, who also took home 2nd and 3rd place honors.
This year’s essay theme, “A Wisconsin Tree and Me: How Wisconsin Trees Grow Fruit & Fiber,” encouraged students to explore how the trees around us contribute to everything from maple syrup to paper products. The contest supports academic standards in English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources, giving students a chance to strengthen their research and writing skills while learning about Wisconsin’s vital agricultural contributions. We are so proud of all our incredible writers here at Kegonsa!

Holy Guacamole! I can’t believe Kegonsa Artists are wrapping up their time here in less than a Week!
Our Window painting was, hands down, the BEST Art day EVER! Our creations will soon be cleaned away but GOOD NEWS, we plan to do our window painting earlier next year so we can all enjoy it longer!
To finish out the year, every student was able to design and create their own balloon! They are absolutely spectacular and they actually hold air! We can’t wait until you all see the results!
I’m blown away by the amazing creations our Kegonsa Artists have come up with this year and I can’t wait to see what next year brings! Keep Creating! :) Kolin
