Good evening, Trojan Families!

This is a message from your proud principal, Mrs. Kinard, and the school leaders at Ferndale Middle School. We strongly encourage you to access the digital version of this announcement, available on our school website and social media. It contains additional important information that you and your students need to know.

Good Evening Trojan Families,

We hope this message finds you well! As we enter the week of March 24–28, we want to remind you that Friday, March 28 marks the end of the third quarter. This is a great time to check in with your child about their progress and ensure that any missing assignments are submitted.

Please encourage your student to finish the quarter strong by staying focused, attending all classes, and giving their best effort each day. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s academic performance, now is a great time to reach out to their teachers.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our Trojans succeed!

GCS Immigration Response GCS Immigration Response

Every family should know that every child in Guilford County has the Constitutional right to attend school regardless of immigration status. The Guilford County Schools does not request or record information about a student’s immigration status. Federal and state laws protect student information from disclosure to others, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). GCS does not permit non-students, including ICE agents, access to GCS facilities unless they can produce a warrant signed by a federal judge. School administrators will not permit the disclosure of confidential student information without first consulting their attorney to make sure that the information has been properly subject to a federal judge’s warrant.

Families should consult community resources to learn their rights and additional information will be provided to help families access these resources.

MATH MOMENTUM

The Math Department is delighted to share that 6th, 7th, and most 8th Grade classes exceeded the GCS District Average for the final Interim Assessment for the 2024-25 school year. Our Marvelous Math Teachers did an amazing job ensuring that scholars were prepared to excel and do well on their Interim Assessment. We will now begin to prepare for the EOGs occurring in June. There are also ways that math can be supported at home included in the schematic below.

We will spend this week reviewing standards where scholars had the lowest scores on the Interim Assessment.

Excited about the great things that lie ahead!
