Principal Corner

T.G. Smith Elementary Families,

Our TGS Open House was a success! It was energizing to see our new and returning Smith Stallions.

First Day of School Arrival

The first day of school is always so exciting. Many students will choose to walk in by themselves on the first day of school. This year we are allowing parents to walk their child in by following our district safety protocol for visitors in the building. We welcome parents to check in at the office with their Driver’s License to obtain a visitor tag. Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. for students. We are looking forward to seeing our Smith Stallions tomorrow.

Dismissal

We will begin dismissing students at 3:10 p.m. If you received your car rider tag, please be sure you have it visible as Mrs. Hardaster walks by your vehicle. Kindergartners will be walked to your car by an adult. Please have your kindergartner practice buckling themselves in so that we can keep the line moving. You will receive new car tags this week. It is imperative that you have them available EVERY DAY. If you need additional car tags, let your child's teacher or the office know. Please be patient the first week of school. It is our goal to have ALL students dismissed within 20 minutes so be sure to arrive no later than 3:30 p.m. If you do not have your child's car tag number, you will be asked to park until all students come outside at 3:25 p.m.

P.S. Please check out the front lawn. There will be a great photo opportunity! Please take a picture and tag it to our TG Smith Facebook page. 📷
