10/19 - D62 Board of Education Meeting at Forest Admin Conference Room starting at 7pm.

10/23 - Cumberland PTO Halloween Dance from 6pm - 7:30pm.

10/30 - Early Dismissal Day for students, dismissal at 12pm.

11/3 - Cumberland PTO Meeting from 7pm - 8pm. (meeting will be virtual, more information to come).

11/5 - Cumberland PTO Dine & Share at Raising Canes from 4pm - 10pm.

A friendly reminder that all medications, including over the counter medicines, need to be stored in the health office and require signed authorization from both a physician and parent. This includes medicines such as cough drops, antacids, Benadryl (including cream), vitamins, acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Students may not keep medication in their backpacks without authorization. Please contact the Health Office if you have any questions or need a copy of the forms sent home to you.

As students begin working on their Science Fair projects, we are excited to provide families with optional poster board templates to help organize and present their students’ work.

There are two different templates available based on grade level:

• K–2 Template Link
• 3–5 Template Link
• Explanation of Scientific Method

Please select the template that corresponds with your child’s grade level. Families are welcome to print and use these templates to help create their child’s Science Fair display.

If your family needs a template printed for you, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Greco (grecoc@d62.org) or Mrs. Fergus (ferguse@d62.org), and we would be happy to help.

Parents and guardians can use the Absence Request tool to submit a request that informs the office in advance when their student is not going to be in school. After the request is processed, Campus creates an attendance record for the student. Phone calls will still be accepted.

In the event of bad weather, we will move the event into the Cumberland Gym.

The Cumberland PTO supports students and teachers throughout each year through hosting community events, fundraising, and providing many opportunities for community members to volunteer. Please join us for the bi-monthly PTO Meeting on Tuesday, November 1st at 7pm. The meeting will be held virtually.

Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is an approach schools use to promote school safety and good behavior. This month students are learning about: being a role model. During social emotional learning time, they will work through class discussions, listen to read alouds from staff, and engage in other activities with their class centered around the monthly focus.

One way you can support this monthly focus at home is to have conversations with your child(ren) about our monthly themes.
