It's all blue skies in Blue Rapids

It has been an exciting week at Blue Rapids Elementary. A big shout out to Mrs. Popejoy, Miss. Coleman and all the K-6 students on an amazing Christmas program. Everyone sounded great and the program from start to finish encapsulated the true meaning of Christmas.

Child Supervision Policy at Games I know Mrs. deBoer and I sent out a Bloomz message this week but I wanted to remind parents of the child supervision policy at games. It was reported to me that students were also outside running around the parking lot, and this concerned me greatly. Again, please make sure that your child sits in the stands with adult supervision and is not playing, running around outside, on the court, in the commons, halls and on the stage. Thank you again for your help with this. As stated in the previous message, we are just concerned about the safety of our children here at Valley Heights. We appreciate all the support for our activities!

All of this said, we have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. We have one and a half weeks left till Christmas break and our focus as a staff and students is finishing the semester strong. Christmas will be here before we know it!! ❄🎅

Here are some upcoming dates to remember:

  • Wax Museum December 18th
  • Winter Break/End of Semester December 20th; dismissal @ 12:30 pm

As always, I want to thank you for the blessing that it is to work with your children. My door is always open if you have any questions or concerns.

Positive Office Referrals Positive Office Referrals

Value Honor Success

Each day in the elementary schools, we teach our students how to have purposeful interactions and goals. We believe that having a common purpose will promote the academic and social emotional well-being of each student. We teach students the VHS model.

To celebrate students accomplishing these things, we have created positive office referrals, with VHS tickets. Teachers and staff hand out VHS tickets when they see a student doing the right thing. Here are some pictures of students receiving their VHS tickets!
