Principal Message

Welcome Fall!

Today officially marks the beginning of the fall season, and the building is ready to begin all of the “fall things.”

Tonight - MTSS CONNECTION 6 pm - Join us for a virtual learning session designed to make PQ’s systems of support more understandable and accessible to families.

Gina Ahearn will lead this introductory session and will explore what MTSS is and how PQ uses universal screening assessments, including STAR and DIBELS, to identify student strengths and needs. Families will learn what these assessments measure, how results are considered alongside other information, and what happens after the fall screening window closes.

Virtual MTSS Learning Session

The Universal Screening process is underway. The testing windows will be open for the next couple of weeks.

Next Tuesday, Stephane Matteau, New York Rangers legend, will return to PQ to work with 4th grade students, sharing his Make Your Moment program with them. Stephane will help students to build their leadership skills and will engage them in important conversations about self-respect and what it means to treat others with respect. This program was a great success last year, and we look forward to welcoming him back to PQ!

Lastly, grades 3-5 will have Parent Curriculum Night on September 29th at 6 pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Snowdon

Message from Nurse Zaetz

Back-to-school season brings students together, but the close contact in classrooms also accelerates the spread of seasonal germs. To ensure a healthy learning environment, the school nurse's office is open during all operational hours to assess students who feel unwell. Parents are strongly urged to keep children home if they exhibit symptoms of contagious illnesses to give them time to recover and to protect classmates.
