Students decorated and designed picture frames to show support of kids who have spoken up and said something when situations seemed questionable. The students pictured in the photo frames have promised to say something!
Read Across America: Special Visitors for Our Kindergarteners!
Today, our kindergarten students had a special treat as visitors from the Maintenance and Transportation Department joined us to celebrate Read Across America! They read The Very Hungry Caterpillar to our little learners, making the story come to life in a fun and engaging way.
We are grateful for our community partners who help foster a love of reading in our students. Thank you for making this day even more special!
Engaging Math in Action!
Engaging Math in Action!
Mrs. McCoy’s fifth-grade students took their learning beyond the classroom with an interactive math activity led by our math specialist, Mrs. Barnes! After mastering the standard in class, students reinforced their skills in adding and subtracting decimals through a hands-on activity in the cafeteria. Learning is always more meaningful when students can apply their knowledge in new and engaging ways! Great job, scholars!

Our Youngest All-Stars Shine Bright!
Our Youngest All-Stars Shine Bright!
This morning, two of our amazing Pre-K students showed their knowledge and confidence by reading to our third graders! Their ability to read at such a young age is a testament to their hard work, the dedication of their teachers, and the power of early literacy.
As we continue celebrating Read Across America this week, moments like these remind us of the joy and importance of reading at every age. Seeing our youngest scholars take the lead in sharing stories with older students was truly inspiring!
Great job, future leaders! Keep turning those pages and reaching for the stars!

🌟 Employee of the Month Spotlight: Mr. Walker! 🌟
We are thrilled to recognize Mr. Walker as Carver Elementary’s January Employee of the Month! Mr. Walker goes above and beyond every single day to keep our school clean, safe, and running smoothly.
With our custodial team temporarily short-staffed, Mr. Walker has stepped up without hesitation—tackling double the workload with dedication and a positive attitude. Despite the long hours and extra responsibilities, he never complains. His hard work ensures that our students and staff have a clean, welcoming environment to learn and grow.
As one of the few male staff members in a building full of women, Mr. Walker brings balance, humor, and unwavering dependability to our team. We are beyond grateful for his commitment to Carver, and we want to make sure he knows how much he is appreciated!
Please join us in celebrating Mr. Walker for his outstanding contributions to our school!
🌟 Employee of the Month Spotlight: Mrs. Parham! 🌟
Join us in celebrating Mrs. Parham, our February Employee of the Month! As a dedicated teacher assistant, Mrs. Parham wears many hats at Carver Elementary, always going above and beyond to support our students and staff.
After recently being out on medical leave, she returned with the same energy, passion, and commitment—picking up right where she left off as if she were never away. Her unwavering dedication to our students is truly inspiring, and she continues to make a difference every single day.
Mrs. Parham is not just an assistant in the classroom; she is a mentor, a nurturer, and a vital part of our school community. Her hard work, positive attitude, and selfless service do not go unnoticed.
Thank you, Mrs. Parham, for all that you do for Carver Elementary! We appreciate you more than words can express.
Carver Eagles at the NC Symphony!
Carver Eagles at the NC Symphony!
Our fourth-grade students had the incredible opportunity to attend the NC Symphony at McGregor Hall! Experiences like these help cultivate an appreciation for music and the arts, which play a vital role in a well-rounded education.
The arts foster creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness—skills that benefit students far beyond the classroom. We are grateful for the chance to expose our students to the beauty and power of live music!
