Book Character Parade

We’d like to thank our family and friends who came out to cheer on our students during the Favorite Book and Character Parade yesterday. Our students proudly showcased some wonderful books and brought their favorite characters to life as we celebrated the joy of reading together!

Principal’s Coffee Chat

Have you ever received a test result or summary report and wondered, “What does this really mean?” We’re here to help!

Join us for our next Coffee Chat on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. Our Assistant Principals will lead the session and break down how to interpret student performance on standardized assessments.

We look forward to seeing you there!

One Flock, One Flight: F.Ave Falcons Unite!!!

The Decatur Parents Network and the Decatur Education Foundation are collaborating this year on the Speaker Series. This event will take place on October 15 at DHS Learning Commons 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. This event is for adults only. Due to parent requests and community feedback, we are hosting a speaker series for Decatur parents to have a community conversation on youth gatherings, alcohol, and other drug misuse. Parents and caregivers will hear from local experts and explore how to keep youth safe, set clear boundaries, and understand responsibilities when gatherings happen in private spaces. As Red Ribbon Week is on the way, and Halloween is coming, this topic is particularly timely!

School pictures have been rescheduled due to a holiday. The new date for school pictures is Wednesday, October 15th, and picture makeups are on Tuesday, October 21st.

2025 FAVE READ A THON STARTS THIS FRIDAY

Read-A-Thon Packets will be sent home this Thursday in your child’s folder.

Make sure to read through the info and have your child start logging their reading minutes this Friday.

Talk to your child about their reading goals and who they may want to ask to sponsor them- (grandparents, friends, neighbors!!)

This is a great way to encourage your falcon to read and support the school at the same time!

Help Us Create a Zen Space at FAVE!
We are working on creating a relaxing “Zen Space” at FAVE for staff to unwind, reset, and recharge. We are seeking donations of calming items such as massage chairs, tabletop fountains, aromatherapy diffusers, soft lighting, cozy seating, and other items that promote relaxation.

If you have something to donate or would like to contribute, please contact Erica Bacher at ecarlin31@gmail.com. Together, we can create a peaceful space for our school community!

The Staff Wellness Committee is also looking to offer yoga for our teachers and would love for a parent volunteer! If you have experience teaching yoga or know of a teacher who is available, please reach out to Erica Bacher at ecarlin31@gmail.com.
