We are so excited to welcome you and your family for an amazing school year!

Being a Learning Coach is meaningful, with fun-filled and sometimes challening days, too. So we want to do our part to make things flow as smoothly as possible for you! We appreciate the hard work that takes place in your home.

  • First, take a little time to look over the Welcome Site. This is the spot! Prior to the first day of school, your K12 School (OLS) login will direct you there automatically.

  • When your student logs in to login.k12.com on the first day, they will see the K12 Launch Pad. This is their hub to see classes, assignments, emails, and more. They’ll also find a Welcome Site widget right in their K12 Launch Pad, so they can easily get back to those extra resources anytime throughout the year.

We're so glad you’ve chosen to let us serve your student’s academic needs. We’re excited to get to know your family as you join our school community.

Let’s have a great year together! ~ Your OHVA School Team

FAQ's & Tips for New Learning Coaches: FAQ's & Tips for New Learning Coaches:

  • Should I purchase school supplies? Typical supplies like printing paper, pencils, markers, colored pencils, folders, highlighters and notebooks are encouraged to help your student be organized and prepared. Printing varies by personal preference and grade level, but we do recommend printing on draft or economy setting.
  • When do we get our schedules? Can I see my schedule early? Keep an eye on the Online School and emails from your advisor. Many grades have Class Connect schedules posted on the school website.
  • When will I hear from a teacher or counselor? Staff will be in touch as school begins.
  • What is Live Class? Also known as Class Connect, these sessions involve necessary instruction for your student.
  • Are there really three or four orientations? I keep seeing them getting added to my schedule. To allow for flexibility and busy schedules we offer several options to attend an orientation.
  • I am feeling so overwhelmed already. There is so much to figure out. We've got you! Hang in there. You're starting something brand new, and it takes time. Reach out to your advisor, join parent groups...lots of ways to get the help you need!
Instant Ink from HP - Recommended by many Learning Coaches
Note that OHVA does not provide printer ink other than the small starter cartridge sent with the printer. Many LC's like the subscription service for Instant Ink. This is not an endorsement by the school, but is a tip shared by parent Boosters.

What Materials will my Middle Schooler Receive?

Because materials are shipped out by course, each student must first be assigned courses for materials to be shipped out.

Once your student is assigned courses, you can track your incoming shipments right from your Learning Coach K12 School OLS account!

MAP Assessments (NWEA)

Watch for instructions for your student to take MAP (NWEA) assessments online. It's super important that your student take these assessments independently so that teachers can glean the academic info on your student's academic needs to get started, and be able to see growth and progress as the year continues.
