Welcome Back To School. We are so excited to have you back and are ready for a great first day.

Here are the 4 things you need to know:

1. Community Council Elections are upon us. If you are interested in applying for the 2 open positions, please fill out the application below or pick up a copy in the office.
2. First Day of School: On Monday August 18 we will meet in the back of the building (see the first map). All students will walk around outside to meet their teachers. In the mornings students will not come through the building. At 8:50 am we will do the Pledge of Allegiance as a school and then the students will come with their teacher into the classroom. Parents will say goodbye on the playground. School will be dismissed at 1:30.
3. Maps: You will find maps attached for line up spots, classroom maps and drop off procedures.
4. Davis School Board adopted an updated Electronic Device Policy for all students in accordance with Utah State Law. Cell phones and smart watches are not allowed during the school day. They must be powered off once the bell rings and stored in the backpack during the school day. Devices may be turned back on at dismissal. Students may wear a watch that tells time only and cannot send or receive a message. We need your support and help to ensure that this policy is followed.

This year, our Community Council has two open parent positions (two-year terms) that will be filled through an election.

Application window: August 15–25 at 4:00 PM.

The application form is attached below and available in the main office. Completed applications may be emailed to mdaly@dsdmail.net or dropped off at the office.

When applying, please include a brief paragraph introducing yourself and sharing why you would be a valuable addition to the Stewart Community Council. This introduction will be shared with voters alongside the ballot.

Election dates: August 26–30 (closing at 2:00 PM) via myDSD.
Election results will be announced in the Weekly Newsletter on August 30.

• August 18 - First Day of School - Early out
• August 20 - First Day of School for Kindergarten - Early out for kindergarten only
• August 21 - Kindergarten Early Out
• August 22 - Regular Friday early out schedule for all students
• September 1 - Labor Day No School
• September 2 - 10:30 am PTA Meeting. All invited.
• September 18 - STEAM Night 5-7 pm

We are looking for businesses that would like to share their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) endeavors with our students. STEAM Night will be held Thursday September 18 from 5-7 pm. If you are interested please contact Brooke Haag at bhaag@dsdmail.net.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP IN THE CLASSROOM OR ON FIELD TRIPS.
