October 2026
VPE Parent Newsletter
Can you believe it is October?!
September was a VERY busy month at VPE! Tracking Thursdays started the first of week of September. Our students love that and we love having you join them on Tracking Thursdays, also. We had our huge APEX FUNDRAISER. The Apex staff met with our students daily over a week and a half, during announcements and also providing a leadership session each day in each classroom. Thank you for the support you gave as we raised money for VPE. What are we going to do with the APEX money VPE earned? Currently, we are working on some ideas for addition(s) to the outdoor play area. By the November Newsletter, I hope to let you know the project we are able to complete with the APEX funds we raised this school year (along with the funds from last year) and the expected date for the project implementation. The VPE Staff appreciates you and your generous support! You are amazing!
NEW ENTRANCE at VPE
The district has worked the last couple of months making changes to campus entrances throughout the district. The additional security measures that have been put into place are a great addition to VPE. I want to express my gratitude to you for your patience as we have implemented the new security measures. The process for getting into the office takes a little longer and you have been very understanding. If you have not yet been to the campus for a visit, just remember to bring your driver's licence or ID and have it ready to slide it into our Raptor system (just inside the first door which will not be locked). After our office staff have verified your identity, they will release the lock on the door to let you come into the building.
The Game Plan....
The Game Plan section of the Parent Newsletter will include announcements, reminders and information about upcoming events and/or other items of interest for you. Thank you for scrolling down the page to check out important information for the month. Also, you will find (for quick reference) at the bottom portion of each newsletter links to items you might want to access throughout the year.

VPE Attendance
Help us hit our goal!
If we hit 97% we will have an AttenDANCE party at the end of the day in the hallway! Be on the watch for Sur"prize" attendance days!
Additional information about lunch visitors can be found later in this newsletter.
Career Day is a great day for the students to learn about different career fields. Students will be able to visit stations in the gym and around the track that highlight various career fields and the people that work in those fields. We love having the Lindale Police Department visit our campus, along with EMT personnel in the ambulance. A special treat will include a visit from one of our local hospital's helicopter pilot and helicopter (if available). In addition, our LHS Career & Technology Program will have several stations that focus on a variety of career choices (i.e. robotics, teaching, etc.) and give students demonstrations or activities in those career fields.
Have your child dress up to represent a career field (no Halloween Costumes). I was amazed last year at the awesome career costumes the children wore. It will be a GREAT day for all!

If a pass is available, they may go to the restroom
Get quiet if instructions are being given
Use good manners
We look forward to your visit!!
Letter to Parents Regarding the Free & Reduced-Priced Meal Program
Lindale ISD is committed to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to succeed, and that begins with meeting their basic needs. One way we support families is through the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program, which provides nutritious meals at little or no cost to qualifying students.
We want to assure you that this program is completely confidential. Only the parent or guardian who applies will know if their student qualifies. All students go through the same meal lines, and there is no distinction made between those receiving free, reduced, or full-price meals.
If you feel your family may qualify, we encourage you to apply. Applications are available online athttps://www.mealappnow.com/manlin/splash.php.
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible so your child can begin receiving benefits without delay. If your family’s situation changes during the school year, you may apply at any time.
If you have any questions or need assistance with the application process, please contact Lindale ISD's Child Nutrition Department.
Thank you for partnering with us to ensure every child in Lindale ISD is healthy, supported, and ready to learn.

Game On: Every Move Counts
This year's school theme will focus on our students knowing that "Every Move Counts." The students will learn that in all situations at school they will want to make their every move count. Learning moves that are strategic and thoughtful when it comes to academics, behaviors, communication, and more. We will begin the year (and every morning) reminding the students that three of the greatest moves that will be a game changer for them will being RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE and READY for SUCCESS. Thank you for reinforcing these game changing expectations, also.
