News from SWES PTO
Thank you to all the parents who have helped throughout the school year. The PTO could not do anything without your support! We had a fun year of events, teacher appreciation efforts, and special speakers at the school. We'd love to hear feedback on your favorite activities from the year, and offer opportunities to sign up and volunteer for the next school year. Please complete this short survey if you have a few minutes: PTA SURVEY
You may also reach out directly to the PTO with any questions (infoswespto@gmail.com).
We hope your families have a wonderful summer break. Looking forward to seeing you in the new school year!

Principal's Message
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Thank you for your support during the ten years that I have had the honor of being a leader at Steuart Weller. Working with parents, students, staff members, and folks in our community has given me a greater appreciation for who we are as Weller Wild Cats. There is an undeniable quest to always become better, stronger, more thoughtful, and more kind. Steuart Weller Elementary School is a wonderful place for everyone in our community. I will miss the morning hugs, the high fives, I might even miss the car line....I know when the new principal is selected, he or she will have a fantastic team in place to carry on our work and our fun. I hope you have a peaceful summer and that everyone reads, and reads some more. My current book is titled: Dopamine Kids, by Michaeleen Doucleff. I am recommending it to all who will listen! It is an intriguing analysis of the impact of ultra processed foods in combination with video games on our brains. Check it out!
Please remember that school starts on Monday, August 17! Students must be in attendance to have a seat at Weller. With our cap of 24 per class, we are getting tight and if your child is absent the first week of school, there literally might not be space.
With love and respect,
Principal Julia Burton

Kindergarten Registration
If you have not registered your incoming child for kindergarten, yet, please do so ASAP. We will only have 4 sections of kindergarten and we are almost full. Please contact our school registrar, Bonnie Fila, about the process.
Supporting Social Emotional Growth at Home
Here are questions you can ask your children about what will be presented this week in their daily SEL lessons
Students in grades K-5 will celebrate the growth they have made with their SEL skills and share favorite memories from this year! They will also set a goal to work on practicing a skill over the summer or next school year.
K-5
Students will reflect upon their SEL strengths, as well as how they have utilized SEL skills throughout the year. They will consider how they might continue to grow their SEL skills this summer and/or next school year.
Ask your child, “what is one of your SEL strengths or favorite skills?”
