Hello CIS Families, ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ซ

I hope everyone was able to enjoy valuable time making memories with family, friends, and loved ones.

As we welcome our students back from fall break, we are excited for the three weeks leading up to winter break. This time will be filled with fun, engagement, focused test preparation, and the administration of important assessments. We remain dedicated to finishing the first semester of the 2025โ€“2026 school year strong and with great success.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for being an essential part of our CIS family. Your partnership helps our students thrive every day. Together, weโ€™re building a strong learning community!

Please take a moment to review this weekโ€™s newsletter for important updates and information.

๐ŸŒŸ Upcoming Events:

  • December 6: Comets PTSO Holiday Market 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • https://www.ciscomets.com/athletics/athletics-calenders.com/athletics/athletics-calender

Weekly Reminders Weekly Reminders

Uniforms

CIS is a uniform school. We have noticed an increasing number of students arriving to school out of uniform. Please ensure that your scholar is dressed in the appropriate, required uniform each day. For details, see the policy on our website, in the Student & Parent Handbook, or the newsletter.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Arrival and Dismissal

We have observed an alarming number of drivers exceeding the posted speed limit during arrival and dismissal times. Please be mindful of the speed limit and remember that the parking lot is an area with multiple moving vehicles and children. Safety must be our top priority.

Additionally, the front pickup and drop-off area is one lane only, not two. This design ensures the safety of students entering and exiting vehicles. When leaving the line after your child has been loaded, please use your turn signals. These procedures are in place to protect everyone on campus.

Ice Cream

Please note the following about ice cream sales for students in Kindergarten through 5th grade:

  • Ice cream must be paid for in advance by Wednesday.

  • The cost is $2 cash only.

  • No money will be collected from K-5 students on Friday for ice cream.

  • Only K-5 students who have prepaid will receive their ice cream on Friday.

Lunch Deliveries

All parent lunch drop-offs by parents should be delivered prior to the start of your student's scheduled lunch time. When students receive lunch late, it may cause them to miss important instructional class time.

Scheduled lunch times are as follows:

  • Kindergarten - 2nd grade- 11:00 AM
  • 3rd - 5th grade- 11:30 AM
  • High School- 11:30 AM
  • Middle School- 12:33 PM

Lunch deliveries via UberEats, DoorDash, etc. are not permitted. If a student orders lunch to be delivered, it will be kept in the front office until the end of the school day. In cases where a student forgets to bring lunch and a parent is not available to bring lunch to the school, parents can log into the Mama's site and order from the late menu.

Office Hours

  • Office hours are 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM.
  • Arrival begins at 7:45 AM. Students should be in class by 8:15 AM.
  • The car rider line begins at 3:10 PM and ends at 3:45 PM. After 3:45, students should be picked up from the front office no later than 4:00 PM.

Any student who is not staying after school for a supervised practice, meeting, or rehearsal will need to be picked up no later than 4:00 PM each day or enroll in the after-school. Students can no longer linger and wait in the building to be picked up beyond 4:00 PM. There is not ample adult supervision to ensure student safety. https://www.ciscomets.com/support/before-and-after-school-enrichment
