Dear Wilson Families,

As we begin the new school year, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome back to our students, staff, and families. Thank you for choosing Wilson—we are grateful to have you as part of our community.

Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, you are a valued member of the Wilson family.

We are especially thankful for our dedicated teachers and staff who have worked hard this summer to prepare safe, supportive, and engaging learning environments. And to our students—we cannot wait to see all that you will accomplish this year.

I also want to take a moment to address the current concerns affecting many families in our community. In light of recent immigration events, I want to reassure you that our schools are and will remain safe, welcoming places for all students—regardless of background. Our focus is always on protecting and uplifting every child who walks through our doors. You can trust that while your child is with us, they are cared for and surrounded by adults who are committed to their safety, growth, and success.

Together, we will continue to stand together in community. We are proud to serve you—and proud to be Wilson.

The new school year is almost here, and we are excited to welcome our students and families back!

Meet the Teacher Night: Join us on Wednesday, July 31st from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at both campuses. This is a great opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, tour the campus, and get ready for a successful year.

Wilson Community Center Support: Stop by the Primary Gym from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on July 31st for our district job fair, and visit the Community Center for free haircuts, medical and dental services, and backpack giveaways. These resources are available to help families start the school year prepared and supported!

Important Reminders for Families

• Enroll before school starts! Have a preschooler or incoming kindergartener? Visit our office and enroll before Meet the Teacher Night!

• If possible, please send your child with a refillable water bottle daily.

• New to our district? Please review our uniform policy before the first day of school.

• Strong attendance from day one sets the tone for success. Set your alarms and we will see you at school daily and on time!

First Day of School: Monday, August 4th

From our free full-day preschool and kindergarten, to ensuring free meals for every student, and our wraparound support services like onsite medical and dental care, Wilson is more than a school—it is a community.

We are proud to continue our partnership with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, bringing essential medical resources directly to our community. The PCH team is on-site every Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 AM–12 PM.

Mark your calendars! Our annual Back-to-School Extravaganza is taking place on Wednesday, July 31st.

Thanks to our incredible volunteers, our client-choice food pantry continues to serve hundreds of Wilson families every month.
🗓️ Upcoming pantry dates:
• Tuesday, July 16 | 4–6 PM
• Tuesday, August 6 | 9–11 AM
• Tuesday, August 20 | 4–6 PM

We are currently in need of reusable or paper grocery bags. Donations are welcome—and please remember to bring your own bags when you shop to help us maintain an eco-friendly system!

We are grateful to partner with Helping Families in Need, who are available every Thursday from 9 AM to 1 PM to assist with AHCCCS and SNAP enrollment. If you or someone you know needs help accessing healthcare or food support, our team is ready to assist. Visit our Wilson Community Center on these dates for more information!
