2024-2025 BUS TRANSPORTATION SURVEY 2024-2025 BUS TRANSPORTATION SURVEY

zoom_out_map

We are preparing for the 2024-2025 school year and request that, if you have not done so yet, you complete this survey form concerning transportation for your child for next school year. While the choice is yours, we encourage you to consider using the busses provided by the district as this allows children to arrive to school on time and return home in a timely manner. In addition, using the bus system helps to alleviate the congestion on Route 44, keeping the roadway open to general traffic and emergency vehicles. We do need this form completed for each child you have at Beckwith, even if they will be transferring to another school in September. Please complete this survey by May 20, 2024. Thank you.

Simply use this link, scroll to the bottom of the screen and submit your message. A staff member will approve all messages before they are displayed on our new Touchview (donated by the Rehoboth PTSA) in the cafeteria. It's that simple!

The Kindness Task Force looks forward to continuing to bring positivity within the Beckwith School Community!

HELPFUL CHROMEBOOK TIPS HELPFUL CHROMEBOOK TIPS

zoom_out_map
  1. Keep your Chromebook on a flat surface like a table or a desk. (Don't leave it on the floor where someone could step on it.)

  2. Don't pile things on top of your Chromebook..

  3. Keep the Chromebook in the case. Do not take it out of the case.

  4. Make sure there isn't anything on the keyboard when you close your Chromebook.
  5. Keep food and drinks away from your Chromebook and make sure your hands are clean. (Crumbs and liquids are very bad for your Chromebook and can cause it to stop working properly.)
  6. Be careful how you carry your Chromebook. Make sure your Chromebook is closed, always use two hands or zipper your case, and never carry your Chromebook by the screen or open case.
  7. Keep it charged fully at home. Plug it in when you are not using it so that it will be charged and ready when you need it.
  8. Tell your teacher right away if it breaks and report to the main office. Don't try to fix it yourself.
  9. Remember to take care of yourself online too. Stay on approved websites, keep your password private, and log off when you're done. Remember anything that happens under your account is your responsibility.

Please CLICK HERE for more information on MySchoolBucks.

Account payments can be made through MySchoolBucks.com using a debit/credit card or electronic check. We will also be accepting cash and check payments (CHECK ONLY at Beckwith Middle) at all cafeteria registers. Please make checks payable to “Dighton Rehoboth Regional School District” and include your student’s full name in the memo line.

School meals are once again free (see above); however, all students must use the point of sale system to obtain a free lunch. Please encourage your child to remember their lunch pin number because it helps to move along the lunch lines. If a student forgets their pin, then the cafeteria workers need to look it up and this stalls the lunch line.

Students will need to pay for snacks not included with the free meal and this is the reason why a parent would want to put money on their child's account.

ABSENCE PROCEDURE ABSENCE PROCEDURE

Thank you for calling when your child is going to be absent. Please be aware that these are not excused absences, but they prevent you from receiving an automated call from the district.

School attendance and punctuality are closely correlated with success at school. Time in class cannot be replicated by simply giving the absent student the work that was missed. Frequent absences can leave gaps in a student’s education that can affect them for years to come. For more information on Attendances and Absences, please review the Student Handbook.

Please call into the 24/7 Absence Line by the start of the school day (8:15 a.m.) to report your student's absence. Leave a message that states the name of your child and why they will be absent. To reach the absence line call 508-252-5080 and press 1. Alternatively, you may also email the Main Office at bmsattendance@drregional.org by 8:15 a.m. This email address can be used to report your student's absence as well as to report a tardy or dismissal.

Families of students who are marked as having an unexcused absence and who do not call the Absence Line or email the aforementioned email address by 8:15 a.m. will receive a phone call, text message, and email notification from the District to inform them of the student absence. The message will prompt families to call the Main Office to confirm the absence as soon as possible. The timing of the notification will be 9:15 a.m.

All absences are considered unexcused with the exception of the following: student medical appointment/illness/quarantine (with a doctor’s note), bereavement, family emergencies, observance of major religious holidays, weather so inclement as to endanger the health of the child, court appearance, out of school suspension, disability-related absences, and unique circumstances approved at the Principal’s discretion. In instances of chronic or irregular absence reportedly due to illness, the school administration may request a physician's statement certifying such absences to be justifiable.

Please arrange for doctor's notes to be sent to the Main Office via Fax Number at 508-252-5082 or via email at bmsattendance@drregional.org

DRAMA CLUB DRAMA CLUB

zoom_out_map

Drama Club students should be checking their emails from Ms. Rocha. On Mondays, she will send Drama Club students a weekly email with all the information for the week. In addition, Drama Club students can check the Bulletin Board in the Cafeteria for a list of students who should stay for the next rehearsal (there will be many times where only certain Drama Club students will be required to attend a rehearsal). For questions, please contact Ms. Rocha at krocha@drregional.org

Drama Club Parents:

As our show dates get closer, I would like to send emails to parents to allow you all to be updated on rehearsal schedules, costume/makeup necessities, volunteer opportunities, and to have communication for any questions that may come up.

Please email me at krocha@drregional.org to be included in weekly emails.

I will send my first email out May 1st, and will continue with the weekly emails entailing the schedule for each week.
