Torringford Tigers
March 2026
A Message from Mrs. Galullo & Mrs. Austin
Dear Torringford Families,
It’s a lucky month to be at Torringford School! Our Torringford Tigers continue to shine in every way, and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and "Tiger Pride."
A huge thank you to everyone who supported our February Kindness Month to support St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Whether you bought a carnation for a friend, rocked crazy hair, or cast one of the 694 votes to decide who would get a Pie in the Face, your generosity added up to an incredible $3,241. These funds will go a long way in supporting our mission and spreading kindness far beyond our walls at Torringford. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this important cause!
We also had a fantastic time seeing so many of you at our Winter Wonderland festival—events like these truly make our school a vibrant community.
As we look ahead, we have several important dates to keep in mind:
Parent Conferences: We look forward to connecting with you on March 23, 24, and 25 to celebrate your child’s progress and discuss their continued growth. Please note these will be 1:45 PM early dismissal days.
- Torringford's Read-a-Thon, taking place until March 20th
Whether it’s earning PAWSOME cards for being respectful, responsible, and safe, or diving into new books, our students are making this a month to remember.
Wishing you all a fantastic March filled with joy, learning, and new adventures!
With Tiger Pride,
Mrs. Galullo & Mrs. Austin

Torringford Tigers are PAWSOME
Celebrating Our PAWSOME Tigers!
The hallways of Torringford were buzzing with 'Tiger Pride' throughout February as our students consistently modeled what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe.
While February was a shorter month, our Tigers didn't slow down. We are thrilled to announce that during the month of February, our students earned a total of 262 PAWSOME awards! This shows just how hard our students are working to build a kind and supportive school family. Every card represents a positive choice that makes Torringford a better place to learn and grow. We encourage you to ask your child about their "Tiger Pride" and celebrate these mid-winter wins at home!
A special "Tiger High-Five" goes to our February winners:
Sara Wanik: Morning Announcements with Mrs. Smith
Rafael Rubino: Fancy Lunch with Mrs. Austin
Malikhi Batson Minnis: Orbeez Fun with Mrs. Austin
Giselle Ramerez Alvarez: Kindergarten Helper in Mrs. Cruz’s Class
PAWSOME at Home!
We challenge our Tiger families to keep the momentum from Kindness Month going right at home! It’s the perfect way to reinforce the great habits your children are showing at school.
The March Challenge: The Kindness Catch
The spirit of kindness didn't end with February; it has set the stage for an even more PAWSOME month of March. Try to "catch" your child performing an act of kindness without being prompted. Whether it's helping a sibling, taking care of a pet, or using polite words, these moments are what make a Tiger truly PAWSOME.
How to Celebrate at Home
The "Kindness Shout-Out": During dinner, have everyone share one kind thing they saw someone else do that day.
The High-Five Habit: A simple high-five when you see them being Respectful, Responsible, or Safe makes those good choices stick!
Tiger Pride Reflection: Ask your child, "How did you help someone feel special today?" and share your own story too.
Let’s keep working together to help our students shine!

Our Tigers ROAR for a Cause!
We are absolutely thrilled to share the final results of our February fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of our Torringford families, we raised a grand total of $3,241!
From the excitement of our Smencil and Carnation sales to the school-wide spirit shown during our "Pie in the Face" event and "Crazy Hair Day," every contribution played a part in this massive success.
These funds will go directly toward life-saving research and treatment, helping children and families when they need it most. Thank you, Torringford, for showing the world how much our Tigers care!
Pre-Kindergarten Discoveries - Where curiosity and fun go hand in hand!
Pre-K students explored shapes through a variety of hands-on and engaging activities. During art activities, students used dot markers, coloring pages, and creative materials to identify and decorate different shapes. They practiced recognizing shapes such as circles, squares, hearts, and rectangles while expressing their creativity.
Students also worked with puzzles and shape sorters to strengthen their shape recognition and problem-solving skills. These activities encouraged students to match and manipulate shapes, helping them understand how different shapes fit together.
Music and movement were incorporated through songs about shapes, allowing students to sing, move, and identify shapes in a fun and interactive way. These experiences supported early math skills while also developing fine motor skills, visual discrimination, and language as students talked about and described the shapes they were exploring.
