Drop-off and End of Day Dismissal Reminder
Just a reminder to parents and guardians that we have various modes available for student pickup. Please utilize the most appropriate pick-up method for your student.
Drop-off: Please make sure your student is not being dropped off on Maple St. That is not a drop-off location. Please make sure students are being taken to the main elementary entrance.
Dismissal: We begin dismissal at 2:50pm and make our way to where students need to go at the end of the day. All students should be dismissed by 3:00pm. If your students pick-up mode needs to be changed, please change it on the app OR call the office by 2:15pm. The office has the ability to change it on the PikMyKid platform. I have to follow what PikMyKid says at the end of the day.
Pick-Up Modes
Elementary Staff Walker: Walking within the elementary school to parent/guardian/approved pick-up person.
Secondary Walker: Walking to the middle/high school to parent/guardian/approved pick-up person.
Independent Walker: Able to walk independently to their after school destination (home, daycare, etc.).
Walk-up Pick-up: Meeting with an adult after school. This is supervised by adults and students will be checked out as they leave.
Car Line: Picked up in the car line by approved adult.
Bus: Taken to home/preferred destination by district bus.
WAAC: After school program located in the elementary. *Have to be enrolled in the program.
Clothing Weather Reminder
41-50 degrees = recommended coats or sweatshirts
40 degrees or lower = recommended coat, boots, gloves, hat, and snow pants
10 degrees or lower (including wind chill) = recess will be held indoors (classroom)
Best judgment in accordance with weather conditions is expected by parents. When students do not bring the appropriate outdoor clothing, their recess experience will be modified in accordance to the judgment of staff. If your student is in need of appropriate outdoor clothing, please contact the office. Shepherd Elementary may or may not have additional gear available when students forget.
