A Message From Dr. Davenport
Dear Roosevelt Elementary Families,
Even though this was a short week, our students were fully engaged in wonderful lessons and continued to make great progress. Our dedicated teachers made sure each day was filled with meaningful learning activities, keeping students actively involved and excited to learn.
We are proud of the growth we’ve seen in our Bears, and their hard work this week shows that even with limited time, great strides can be made. Thank you for your continued support in helping us ensure every day counts!
Progress Reports Coming Soon
Keep an eye out for Progress Reports, which will be sent home with students on Monday, September 9th. These reports are a great way to check in on your child’s progress and celebrate their hard work. Kindergarten parents will also be receiving a letter with progress reports to explain the district new kindergarten grading policy. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher—we’re here to support your child’s success!
September Monthly Calendar
All students were sent home with our September monthly calendar. This is a handy guide to all the exciting events and important dates we have planned this month, so please be sure to check it out and mark your calendars!
Grandparents Day Luncheon – September 12th
We are thrilled to invite all our wonderful grandparents to join us for a special Grandparents Day Luncheon on Thursday, September 12th! To make sure we have enough food and seating for everyone, we sent home a sheet with your child to help us get an accurate count. Please fill it out and return it as soon as possible so we can make this a memorable day for everyone.
Open House – September 19th
We’re excited to open our doors for Open House on **Thursday, September 19th**! This is a fantastic opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, see their classroom, and learn more about what they’ll be doing this school year. We can’t wait to see all of our families there!
Morning Arrival Traffic Reminder
To ensure a smooth and safe morning arrival for everyone, we ask that you please review the traffic diagram that was sent home with all students. Following the outlined procedures helps us keep everything running smoothly and fairly for all families. Your cooperation is essential in keeping our students safe—thank you for your attention to this!
Student Attendance is Important
We want to remind all our families that regular attendance is crucial for your child’s success. According to district policy, any student missing more than 10% of instructional days will be required to attend summer school. We understand that emergencies can arise, but please help us by ensuring your Bear is on campus each and every day. It’s the only way they can learn and thrive! As an extra incentive, students with perfect attendance for the month of September will receive a certificate for a Free Meal at Raising Cane’s. Let’s aim for perfect attendance this month!
We wish you all a wonderful Labor Day and a fantastic start to September. Thank you for being such an important part of our Roosevelt Elementary family!
Meals
We are pleased to inform you that all Roosevelt students receive free breakfast and free lunch every day. We encourage all students to take advantage of these meals to help fuel their learning.
Thank you to our students, parents, and staff for making this such a positive start to the school year. We are looking forward to all the successes and milestones that lie ahead.
Here’s to a year of inspiration, achievement, and celebration at Roosevelt Elementary!
Warm regards,
Dr. Davenport
