Led by DeSales 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Mazurek & Mrs. Dingman, this program is designed to encourage and help DeSales students get a “jump” start for 5th grade, focusing on skills and strategies needed to succeed. There will be an hour of math instruction and an hour of ELA instruction to get a head start on 5th grade.
In Reading we will be reading one of the required summer reading novels, Stuart Little**, and working on reading comprehension activities and projects pertaining to the book.
In Math we’ll be reviewing fourth grade math skills by completing project-based learning activities to get ready for the challenges ahead in fifth grade.
**The following novel will need to be purchased prior to the start: Stuart Little**
Dates: 7/1, 7/3, 7/8, 7/10, 7/15, 7/16* (7/16 session will be held on a Wednesday)
