Welcome to Garfield School!

Garfield Families, Welcome to the 2026-2027 School Year!

I am excited to welcome you to another great year at Garfield School! As I begin my eighth year serving as principal, I look forward to partnering with our families, students, and staff alongside my phenomenal administrative team, Mrs. Amalong and Mr. Martin.

I would especially like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new families. You are joining a school community that is deeply committed to student success, strong family partnerships, academic excellence, and a positive school culture. Last year, Garfield students made tremendous gains in academic achievement. While we await the release of the official state report card in September, we are incredibly proud of our progress and optimistic about the results.

As we prepare for the new school year, we are excited to welcome several new staff members to our Garfield family:

• Ms. Barnhardt and Ms. Bullington will be joining our Kindergarten team.
• Ms. Lang will join Mrs. Faris on our 2nd Grade team.
• Mrs. Lisiewski will join Ms. Fitzsimmons on our 4th Grade team.

• Ms. Darmond will be leading our Planning Center Intervention Program.
• Ms. Alsaffar will be joining our Multilingual Support Team as our new Arabic Bilingual Paraprofessional.
