PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

The weather in March has been unpredictable and made for some interesting recesses. There was a lot of ice and then a lot of mud and puddles all over the playground. We are hoping for more sun and a dry playground when we come back to school after spring break! Thank you for sending your child to school in appropriate outdoor clothes and footwear through all of the weather changes. The playground does have some low spots that collect water, so we often have lasting puddles through the spring melt. Having extra socks and pants in your child’s backpack may be beneficial in the weeks to come.

We enjoyed Wellness Week in March. One of our favourite days was when everyone got to try some different fruits and vegetables! Term 2 progress reports came out on March 19th and are available on Parent Portal. Our chocolate almond fundraiser has begun. Thank you for your support!

We hope that everyone has a fun and relaxing spring break! We look forward to having everyone back to school on April 7th.

DRY CLOTHES DRY CLOTHES

**Please make sure you have extra clothing for your child at school. Extra socks, pants, and appropriate footwear are needed in this wet, muddy weather. **

Many have sold their case(s) and have requested more. If you would like more cases or haven’t received a case and would like to sell, please contact Susan at snickel@hsd.ca or send in the paper request which is in each case.

**The fundraiser is closing on April 11th.**

LIBERIA FUNDRAISER LIBERIA FUNDRAISER

MES is a place where we care about those around us in our community and for those who need help across the world.

For the past 13 years, MES has partnered with Provision of Hope in helping children from Liberia, Africa. Education has the power to change lives and gives children a chance to move ahead in life and break the cycle of poverty. Children in Liberia have to pay to go to school and if their family doesn't have enough money, they are not allowed to attend school which puts them at a great disadvantage. We want to help!

MES students will be participating in activities to learn about Liberia and the students we sponsor there. We have named this event “Caring for Kids.” On April 24th, students will bring home envelopes to collect funds to continue sponsoring children in Liberia for the next school year.
