Newly Elected Board Members
Our new Board of Education members were sworn in today, April 21, in a Special Board Meeting. Shaun Johnson, Bertha Schultz, and Kirby Wilson took their oath, and each will serve a three-year term.
In accordance with state statute, the WSD did not hold an election this year because the number of candidates who filed matches the number of positions available. The Board also elected officers at the meeting. Julie Scott was elected president, Brad Welsh was elected vice president, and David Biesenthal was elected secretary.
Outgoing Board Members
District administration expressed gratitude to outgoing Board members Renee Henke, David Lewis, and Jen Olson. They each served one, three-year term on the Board. Thank you to these individuals for their dedicated service to the District and community.

The Board explored several options for a resolution authorizing a special election in August to issue general obligation bonds. The Board expressed interest in the administration soliciting and bringing back community input before making a decision at the next meeting.
