The Riverwalk Roar
Apil 19th, 2026
A Note from Dr. Compton
Happy Sunday, Pride!
I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful weekend. Saturday’s weather was amazing, and I hope you were able to spend some time outdoors. My family and I had a great weekend. I’m still recovering from sending my senior off to prom. I’m also not quite ready to accept that she’ll be graduating in just a couple of months.
This time of year is one of my favorites. There’s so much happening in our community, from the BPA-sponsored Spring Fest and Car Show to the Come See Me Festival.
What these events have in common is that they simply don’t happen without the support of countless volunteers. It’s been incredible to see so many of our students stepping up and giving their time. Over the past few days, I’ve seen students of all ages volunteering at the Come See Me Parade, the 5K, Saturday events, Sundaes with Mother Goose, and the BPA Spring Fest and Car Show. These events wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment of our students and staff, who continue to make a difference in both our school and our community.
This is Pride in Every Step in action, showing up, giving back, and making a difference beyond our classrooms. Moments like these remind us that we’re not just preparing students academically; we’re helping shape individuals who contribute, serve, and lead in their communities. Thank you for representing Riverwalk so well.
In Pride and Purpose,
~Dr. Compton
